Garbanzo is an interactive website that connects students with easy-to-understand stories and cultural content in Spanish.
WHY IT WORKS
We acquire language when we see or hear messages that we understand, and so Garbanzo readings are strategically designed to maximize comprehension for Spanish language learners in their first three years of language study. Teachers can search for lessons based on topic, country, or AP Theme, or they can follow Garbanzo's pre-set lesson pathways that slowly spiral in new vocabulary and increase sentence complexity.
HOW IT WORKS
Each Garbanzo lesson presents a text in small pieces, slide by slide. Throughout the lesson, students face challenges that help them to process the text and connect them to the story. Assign Garbanzo lessons for sub plans and homework, enrichment activities and work for absent students, and as supplements to classroom instruction.
