HIPRON’s effort to support the community resulted in establishing Bhakanje Tea Estate in 2019. Nepal Tea Collective is the first company to offer teas from the Everest region.

“The tea industry is riddled with middlemen repressing the potential income for the Nepali farmers. • Production: This is definitely not your typical delicate white tea and does not actually follow the traditional white tea production methods either. Generally, the tender one leaf and a bud are hand-plucked during Spring and Summer (First Flush and Second Flush respectively). Unlike other white teas which go through virtually no processing, this undergoes a small process which makes it so unique and special. Some even call this Silvery Oolong and you’ll find out why as you read along. The leaves are set to go through natural withering for a few hours depending on the weather conditions. After the leaves have succificently softened, it is transferred to a rolling machine under low-medium pressure. With a quick 8-10 minutes rolling process, the tea leaves are able to ooze out some of the essential oils which really fill the room with some amazing floral fresh aroma. This is captured right after to lock in all the fresh aroma though drying process.

While it seems quite simple, it is truly a form of art in knowing the exact time to capture the aromas and flavors from this white tea since it does not go through much processing time. Due to this slight change in the processing format for a typical white tea, it is not uncommon for people to label this as a newer variety/category of oolong tea.

  • First Flush Black Tea 2023
The flowery and nutty tones of this rare Nepali tea pleases your palette perfectly. Its bright floral smell fills you with the sort of pleasure you might have never felt before. Vacuum-sealed for freshness....

  • First Flush: Why is it Unique?

The cool, high-altitude mountainous regions of Nepal provide the ideal growing conditions for tea bushes, which thrive in the well-draining soil and moderate temperatures. Although India has its own first flush teas including Darjeeling first flush and Assam first flush, Nepal’s first flush teas are quite unique and distinct because the tea plants in Nepal are much younger and the terrain is much rougher.
