Session Formats

The NCE offers sessions in a variety of formats to enhance your educational experience. Note the formats below. Every session (except workshops and courses) is open to all who have paid the general registration fee.

(A) Audience-Response Case Discussion

Audience-Response Case Discussions convey an in-depth review or update on a specific topic, with emphasis on practical information for general pediatricians. This information is conveyed through the interactive discussion of cases prepared by faculty combined with audience use of the audience response system (ARS) keypads to answer multiple-choice questions. Results are tabulated, and explanations about the correct answers follow. Keypads will be available for 150 participants in each session.

Early Afternoon Sessions: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Late Afternoon Sessions: 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Under the guidance of faculty, attendees will break into small groups to practice role-playing, engage in problem solving, and participate in techniques that have been demonstrated.
