AAP Section on Med-Peds Leadership Forum* B

The AAP Section on Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds) is committed to advocacy, education, improving communication and research related to the practice and training of physicians in combined internal medicine and pediatrics. Membership in the section is open to all members of the AAP, and currently has over 1516 members. This reception will provide attendees opportunities to network with section members and AAP leadership.

Community Pediatrics Awards Recognition B

Sponsorship: $10,000

The popular, well-attended Community Pediatrics Awards Luncheon recognizes pediatricians who have provided outstanding service to children at the national, state, and local levels while providing the opportunity for all interested pediatricians to meet and network with leaders in community pediatrics.

CATCH Networking Event and Poster Display-Supported by Pfizer G

Our highly attended reception includes a CATCH poster session. The reception provides a public forum for AAP members to celebrate work and the impact of fellow pediatricians and CATCH grant recipients, and recruit members to have an active role in advancing child health in their community.

Section on Breastfeeding Ask & Answer Networking Forum- Supported by Phillips Avent B

More and more pediatricians are caring for breast-feeding mothers and infants on a daily basis. They are helping mothers with breastfeeding techniques, sustaining breastfeeding, returning to work, and more. The Section on Breastfeeding Ask and Answer Networking Forum will give members (section and nonsection) a much needed venue to ask experts their questions about breastfeeding.

Section on Emergency Medicine Networking Event B

Sponsorship: $3,000

Members and others who provide emergency care to children network and discuss the future of pediatric emergency medicine during a well-attended social event. Abstract awards, including a new joint award with the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, are also presented during this reception.

Section on Critical Care Networking Event B

Sponsorship: $3,000

A special banquet and reception is planned to commemorate the event, honor distinguished career awardees, and present historical information in the field and visions for the future.

Section on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention Fellow and Resident Achievement Awards B

Sponsorship: $6,000

The Section on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention Program provides a forum for section members and potential members to learn about and discuss topics in injury and violence prevention and to network professionally. The Fellow and Resident Achievement Awards honor a pediatrician and a trainee who have made significant contributions to the field of injury and violence prevention.

Support either of the section’s lunch activities during the educational forum for the discussion of problems relating to pregnancy, parturition, and perinatal/neonatal medicine. The Section has a total membership of 3,200.

Presentation of the William E. Ladd, Stephen L. Gans distinguished Overseas Lecture and presentation of the Arnold Salzberg Mentorship Award. New members will be introduced and afford opportunities for networking.

Reception provides medical students, residents, and fellowship trainees the opportunity to present a poster on clinical cases and international electives.

Council on School Health Luncheon B

Sponsorship: $3,500

The Council on School Health Luncheon will be held to honor the annual service award recipients and to encourage professional networking of current and potential Council on School Health members through discussion of emerging issues in school health.

Section on Young Physicians Reception S

Sponsorship: $20,000

Our Section on Young Physicians reception enables young physicians to come together, network, and participate in meeting activities specifically designed for them. The AAP recognizes the need for young physicians to become involved with the Academy and lead a new generation of advocates for children.

Provisional Section on Advances in Therapeutics and Technology Reception

$4,000

Brand new section of the AAP will focus on new advances in pediatrics and these advances/innovations can be translated into practice and reception will provide an opportunity for networking.

 

Council on Communication and Media

$10,000

The AAP Council on Communication and Media (COCM) works to address the effects of media on children's health.  Council members also participate in traditional and social media to help impart the information about children's health and safety to the public.  The COCM reception will be open to AAP members who are interested in the media.  Guests will be invited to join COCM in showcasing and celebrating their work in this dynamic and rapidly evolving area of child helath promotion.  Examples of the latest AAP recommendations about children and media will be featured alongside samples of COCM members' interviews and appearances in the media--from "mommy blogs" to the Today Show and more. 

Section on Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Pediatrician Health Day

$5,000

The AAP Section on Med-Peds is hosting an information booth to provide pediatricians an opportunity to discuss health issues with a board certified internist. 

Section on Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Leadership Forum

This event will provide attendees opportunities to network with section members and AAP leadership.
