Shatterproof Treatment Atlas
Developed in 2020 by Shatterproof, a national non-profit organization, Treatment Atlas ("Atlas") is a free, public-facing website that uses validated measures to assess the quality of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities. Atlas is based on Shatterproof's National Principles of Care - a set of evidence-based best practices shown to improve patient health outcomes when treating SUDs. Using data collected directly from treatment providers, Atlas assesses whether addiction treatment facilities are delivering services consistent with the Principles. This information is then displayed for patients, family members, providers and more to use when making decisions about care.
Atlas is currently available in 12 states (CA, DE, FL, LA, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OK, PA, WV and WI) with discussions underway for further expansion. Displaying a comprehensive list of facilities, Atlas brings information to the forefront, empowering those impacted by addiction to locate care that will best meet their needs.
