Berkeley Emergency Medical Group (BEMG) https://www.bemg.org is a private, independent, democratic group in the San Francisco Bay Area which staffs Sutter Health's two emergency departments at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Our 45 physicians work at both campuses in Berkeley (Alta Bates) and Oakland (Summit). Each campus sees about 40,000 patients per year. We've provided emergency care at Alta Bates for over 40 years and Summit for over 20 years. Our physicians become eligible for partnership and their initial shares in BEMG after 18 months of full-time work and can attain full-partnership after another 18-24 months (total 3 - 3.5 years). We are 100% physician owned. All physicians are W-2 employees. We have a competitive compensation package with an RVU-productivity component, and we offer flexible health insurance programs which includes health, dental, vision coverage, and options for health savings accounts.
