The Division of Epilepsy in the Department of Neurology at UF Health Shands Hospital is part of a thriving academic clinical department at the University of Florida College of Medicine that comprises over 45 neurologists involved in patient care, research and teaching. Our group of five full-time faculty members and two part-time members is supported by three full-time advanced practice registered nurses and a host of administrative, technical and research staff.
Our clinical mission is to provide exemplary and humane patient-centric care through professional excellence and superior logistics. Our larger vision is to lead the State of Florida in providing top-tier comprehensive epilepsy care backed by the best technology, offer a quality postgraduate medical education experience for residents and fellows, advance epilepsy-related research that pushes the boundaries of brain science, and contribute our citizenship to the wider epilepsy community. The UF Health Shands Hospital Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is proudly acknowledged by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, as a Level 4 program, the highest level of distinction possible for specialized epilepsy centers. While UF Health offers conventional treatments, patients also have access to advanced treatment options that are hard to find elsewhere.
