Empowering Epilepsy is led by people with epilepsy, for people with epilepsy. All our activities are designed to showcase our commitment to creating a welcoming community of people who understand epilepsy. We strive to help those people and their families live well with seizures outside the neurologist’s office, and focus on educating the general public about epilepsy to promote acceptance, awareness and understanding. Programs offered include eductional conferences, informational sessions, and Age Based Support Groups, all featuring epilepsy specialists from Level 3 and 4 Epilepsy Centers. Our Empowering Epilepsy Headquarters also hosts art therapy, special events, educational sessions, and classes focused on improving participants mind, body and spirit. Our center continously provides lifestyle guidance through peer and expert interactions. We strive to better educate people with epilepsy on better ways to talk with their doctors to get the most accurate diagnosis sooner. Our programs are offered at low- or no cost, which we are able to provide due to the generosity of local, statewide and national donors and foundations.
Empowering Epilepsy enables people with epilepsy to take charge of their lives by connecting them to experts and peers for education, care and support at every age and stage. Founded by people with epilepsy, for people with epilepsy, we provide innovative, results driven programs and events throughout Northeast Ohio. We focus on creating a family friendly community where participants can meet others who understand epilepsy, learn strategies to better manage seizures, and make new friends.
