Micro Electro Mechanical Systems, (MEMS technology) are defined as miniaturized mechanical and electro-mechanical devices that are manufactured using microfabrication. MEMS Technology enables a wide range of available flow sensors from 0-500 SCCM to 0-5 SLPM.

The micro flow sensor measures a change (cooling) in thermal conductivity between two sensors. Only one is in the gas stream which is cooled by flow of the medium. The differential output is proportional to the gas flow. The system has a high accuracy and good repeatability. The built-in temperature sensor compensates the flow for changes in temperature. The output is linear over the range of flow.

We introduced the first commercial photoionization based instrumentation for industrial hygiene measurements of 1 ppm of vinyl chloride in 1974. Nearly 40,000 of the portable PIDs have been sold throughout the world for IH and safety measurement.

More than 50 United States Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) methods based on PID have been published in the Federal Register.

) in the workplace. This analyzer is unusual since it is easy to calibrate, has a fast
response and has only one step to send logged data to a PC.

It uses a thermal conductivity sensor for the measurement of ppm or % levels of hydrogen. It has many unique features. It can also be used as a helium leak detector with a different calibration.


Model 105 Hydrogen (H2) Analyzer

The Model 114 is an IR based analyzer that utilizes interchangeable IR sensors (for CO2 and CH4) for low range or high range (0-100% v/v).

The Model 114 includes one IR sensor for CH4 or CO2 with up to 3 optional electrochemical sensors, datalogging, Operator's Manual, and Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Battery. The main application is checking the composition of landfill gases.

The Model 202 is a low cost continuous IR Analyzer. It has an optional 4-20 mA output, a single programmable setpoint, larger pump & an industrial NEMA 4 enclosure.

This 202 has the choice of one or more CH4, CO2, CO, N2O or, refrigerant gas sensor, Operator's Manual, configuration software and RS232 cable.

The photoionization detector (PID) is used for the measurement of low (ppb) organic and inorganic species that can be ionized by the UV lamp (9.5, 10.6 & 11.7). Nearly 20,000 of these detectors have been sold worldwide since it was first released by HNU Systems in 1976. It has been used for the measurement of VOC’s in water (EPA method 602, EPA Method 50--, EPA Method SW846…, numerous OSHA methods), quality control… There are two Models that are described below:

The Model PI52 has a PID, a power supply for the lamp and bias and an electrometer. The electrometer output is 0-10 VDC. The customer needs a separate ADC channel to feed the signal into the GC’s data system. Alternately, PID Analyzers sells a data system (Model 50) that will feed the signal into a separate PC.

The Model PI51 has a PID and a power supply for the lamp and bias. Here, the customer uses the electrometer (FID type with a positive bias) already in the Gas chromatograph. This should already have the ADC connection to the customer GC data system.

The PID is one of the most sensitive detectors available for VOC’s. It has the widest dynamic range of any detector available (108) and does not require any support gases except the carrier.
