After the masonry of the Romtec building is complete and the glulam roof system is done, the notches for the glulam hold down brackets need marked, notched, and placed in the CMU. This video reviews the steps for notching the brackets in the CMU correctly to prevent any gaps between the top of the CMU and the bottom of the rafters and filler beams.
After filling the CMU walls with grout, it is time to set the glulam beams in place. The Romtec construction crew first lays down the vapor barrier and then ensures the proper alignment of the beams. Romtec designs our buildings so that all of the CMU blocks are grouted solid. This video will demonstrate how Romtec Installers fill the CMU cells with masonry grout using a line concrete pump. Once done pumping, the installers vibrate the grout to ensure that it is throughout the cells. The grout will settle and then the Romtec installers will hand fill the rest.
