The Learning Technology Strategy Workshop
Session # Workshop 7
Date/Venue Saturday, 05/30/2009 9:00AM - 5:00PM , Room 102 A
Description Description: Organizations are implementing e-learning on a tactical basis without knowing how the pieces fit together. We see rote content, curriculum silos, redundant content development, multiple portals, and an overall lack of integration. Learners have no consistent path for information and support, advanced learners are largely ignored, different groups are rewriting the same material, and the full suite of technology opportunities aren't being used. In short, there’s no e-learning strategy. Born out of a number of strategic reviews, this workshop pulls together the problems seen and responds to the underlying causes. A systematic way to view the goals of e-learning guides the development of a strategy that makes sense of and integrates tactics, such as asynchronous and synchronous courses, web 2.0, mobile, simulations, portals, and more into an integrated, coherent, and comprehensible whole.
