Due to globalization, trainers and managers are increasingly being asked to apply their skills in cross-cultural and culturally diverse settings. In this workshop, you'll learn the core conceptual frameworks, tools, and techniques of cross-cultural training and use them. You'll design your own applications that can be applied immediately. This will be a very interactive session where best practices will be demonstrated and practiced. You'll focus on the why, who, what, and how of cross-cultural training. You'll examine the application of cross-cultural skills across the organization. You'll begin with an examination of why do cross-cultural training and an assessment of who could benefit from using these skills. You'll evaluate the best practices in the field, including an in-depth review of a state-of-the-art model which world-class organizations are implementing to bring about learning and change in their organizations. The what and how part of the workshop will include a model cross-cultural training program. This segment will include learning how cultural values influence our assumptions regarding business practices and norms, ideas of leadership, teambuilding, decision making, training, managing, coaching, negotiating, and organizational transformation. You'll learn to use a self-assessment tool that calculates your unique Cultural Profile and can be used to promote cross-cultural understanding. This workshop will include an examination of the core cross-cultural variables that affect individual and group success. Numerous case studies, videos, and cases provided by you and other participants will be used to demonstrate the critical areas where cross-cultural training can be applied. Significant time will be set aside for you to develop specific cross-cultural training interventions that you can use in your organization.
