Welcome to the Rhonda Weiss Center for Accessible IDEA Data!

The Rhonda Weiss Center for Accessible IDEA Data, or the Weiss Center, is a technical assistance data center, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs. The Weiss Center improves state and stakeholder capacity under Part B and Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to collect, report, analyze, and use accurate IDEA data in formats that provide equitable access to individuals with disabilities. This is accomplished through comprehensive technical supports and the development and implementation of an open source, dynamic data reporting tool. The Weiss Center’s technical assistance approach and technological innovations are supported and continuously improved by the end user experience. Adoption and implementation of this “nothing about us, without us” design will ensure the inclusive development and meaningful delivery of the Weiss Center’s products and services.

This center commemorates Rhonda Weiss, a long-time Department attorney and disability advocate with a visual impairment of her own, who passed in October 2021.
