Housing Information and Reservations
Register First, Then Reserve Your Room:
Participants of the 2011 Annual Conference will need to register for the conference before they make their hotel reservations. The NSBA Housing Bureau will begin accepting reservations on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 9:00 AM EDT. All registrants will receive a confirmation ID# for use in reserving their rooms. The quickest way to receive a confirmation ID# is to provide NSBA with an e-mail address. Register by October 4, 2010 to make sure you have your confirmation ID# before housing opens!
Housing Forms
All reservations must be handled through NSBA Housing. Hotels will not honor direct reservations. Reservations should be made prior to March 11, 2011. After that date, neither NSBA nor NSBA Housing guarantees availability of rooms at designated conference hotels at the NSBA Conference rate.
Conference registration must be completed before hotel reservations are made.
Here's the basic Conference schedule:
- Pre-Conference Sessions and Early-Bird Workshops: Friday, April 8.
- Conference begins: Saturday, April 9.
- Conference concludes: Monday, April 11 at 5:00 PM.
- Note to CUBE Participants: Site visit is Friday morning, April 8 at 8:00 AM.
- School Law Seminar: Thursday, April 7, 3:00 PM to Saturday, April 9, 12:00 Noon.
Once you've registered for the Conference and have your confirmation ID#, you may reserve your rooms when housing opens at 9:00 AM EST on Tuesday, October 12. To reserve rooms you may:
After October 12, you can make your hotel reservations 24 hours after receiving your confirmation ID#. Each individual registrant will need a confirmation ID# to book rooms. Only nine rooms or fewer may be reserved by telephone. If you are reserving ten or more rooms, please fax, mail, or go to the NSBA Housing Bureau website to arrange for your accommodations online.

To request a suite, please contact the NSBA Housing Bureau.
When making your hotel reservations by phone, please have the following information ready:
- Registration confirmation ID#.
- Name of Conference registrant.
- Names of room occupants.
- Your first five choices of hotel (see Hotel Rates and Map). Please note: Hotels fill up very quickly, so please have alternate choices ready.
- Arrival and departure dates.
- Type of room needed (single, double, double/double, suite).
- Number of persons in party.
- Any special requirements due to disability.
- Phone number.
- Credit card name, number, expiration date (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club).
- Mailing address.
All reservations should be made prior to March 11, 2011. Room availability and special Conference rates cannot be guaranteed after that date.
Deposits, Confirmations, Check-in Time:
Deposits: A deposit guarantee is required for each reservation and can be made by a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club), check, or money order. (Please note that the credit card can only be used as a guarantee and the hotel may charge only the deposit amount of one night's stay plus tax after March 18, 2011. A valid credit card is needed upon check-in). If you wish to send a check, please send $200 per room or $400 per suite, make the check payable to Convention Management Resources, and mail it to NSBA Housing Bureau, 33 New Montgomery Street, Suite 1100, San Francisco, CA 94105. All check deposits must be received by March 11, 2011. NSBA Housing cannot accept purchase orders as payment for room reservations.
Credit Card Billing: The hotels reserve the right to charge an advance deposit of one night's room and tax after March 18. If you do not want a deposit charged to the card on file, be sure to provide a different card number to NSBA Housing no later than March 17, before your reservation is sent to the hotel. The credit card holding this reservation can be used to pay for the complete stay only if, A) the actual card holder physically presents it to the hotel upon check-in, or B) a hotel-provided credit card authorization form is submitted to the hotel. Please contact your hotel directly to verify their specific credit card authorization procedures.
Confirmation: NSBA Housing will e-mail you a written acknowledgement. Please read your confirmation immediately and carefully to verify all information.
Check-in time: At most hotels, check-in time is between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
Changes, cancellations, and refunds: All changes and cancellations must be made directly with the NSBA Housing Bureau prior to March 11, 2011. Do not contact the hotel directly. Cancellations received after March 11 will incur a penalty: one night's room plus tax charged to your credit card or forfeiture of your deposit check. Likewise, should you fail to arrive on your confirmed date, the same penalties will apply, and your reservation will be canceled for the remainder of your stay.

NSBA's official housing company is Convention Management Resources (CMR), based in San Francisco, California. NSBA does not authorize any other housing company or independent broker to make housing reservations for our conference.
