NSBA is monitoring developments in Japan carefully and the potential impact for the San Francisco area during our conference. The San Francisco Department of Public Health has set up a special section on their website and notes: “Currently there is no danger to San Francisco residents from Japan's nuclear emergency. Over 5,000 miles of air and water separate the Bay Area from Japan. Any radiation released from the power plant in Japan would, over the course of travel to the US, become an insignificant amount.”
