TOUR 1

Ras Abu Fontas, Power & Desalination Plant

Meeting Point: 09:00 at Registration Desk at Qatar National Convention Centre

Security: Passport details will be required in advance for security purposes.

 

The tour includes:

• presentations by the plant management about the overall Ras Abu Fontas facility

• information about the various technologies employed.

• visit to selected parts of the Ras Abu Fontas facility, including some of the principle power and water units

• refreshments and light lunch

• return transportation by coach to the Ras Abu Fontas (RAF) plant complex from the Qatar National Convention Centre.

 

The Ras Abu Fontas (RAF) complex of power generation and water desalination plants is QEWC’s, largest facility located 25 km southwest of Doha.

Qatar Science & Technology Park

 

Date: Monday 4 February 2013

Time: 10:30-14:00

Meeting Point: 10:30 at Registration Desk at Qatar National Convention Centre

Cost: €30

Security: Passport details will be required in advance for security purposes.

 

The tour includes:

• presentations by company management about QSTP Tech 1 and Tech 2 applied research labs and facilities

• information about the various technologies employed.

• networking reception

• refreshments and light lunch

 

As the official Technology Partner which champions pioneering industry-based research and development, delegates will have the chance to visit QSTP’s cutting-edge research facilities and technologies which have numerous awards for innovative use of sustainable design features.

 

Highlights include tour of leading research centres such as QSTP’s ConocoPhillips Water Sustainability Centre, Chevron Centre for Sustainable Energy Efficiency, ExxonMobil Research Qatar and Qatar Shell Research Centre which support Qatar’s sustainable development through research, demonstration and training in power and energy efficiency.
