Mahr created its first line of gear metering pumps in support of Prof. Schlack who invented the Perlon fiber in 1938. Since that time, these high-precision gear metering pumps have proven superior in synthetic fiber production. Mahr has formed alliances with raw material suppliers for many, varied industries, cooperating in research and development of new materials, and we have found new ways to accurately meter product even under extremes of pressure, viscosity and temperature.  Precision blending nanoparticulates to a polymer matrix can dramatically improve performance of the material by simply capitalizing on the nature and properties of the nanofilled polymer composite. In order to make the most of this strategy, the properties of the nanoscale filler must be substantially different or better than those of the matrix. In addition, thorough and accurate dispersion, or blending, of the nanoparticles thoughout the matrix is crucial. Mahr is particularly well-suited to help manufacturing leaders bring commercial-scale manufacture of nanomaterials to reality through custom designed Meter/Mix/Dispense Equipment.
