REM’s Isotropic Superfinish (ISF) Process is a subtractive finishing process capable of reducing the extreme surface roughness associated with powder bed fusion additive manufacturing to traditional machining levels, and even to Superfinish and ISF levels if required. ISF is the perfect solution in that it is highly adaptable to lot size, alloy change, part customization and part geometry without excessive change over time and costs. ISF requires no custom tooling or fixtures, which means faster time from powder to product. The ISF Process is currently available for alloys such as Ti 6-4, Inconel® and Stainless Steel.
