Sciaky, Inc. launched its Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM™) process to save manufacturers time and money on the production of large metal parts and prototypes. EBAM produces parts ranging from 8 inches (203 mm) to 19 feet (5.79 meters) in length. Gross deposition rates range from 7 to 20 lbs. (3.18 to 9.07 kg) of metal per hour, and the near-net shape parts result in less machining time and minimal material waste. The EBAM process utilizes wire feedstock, which is available in titanium, tantalum, niobium, Inconel, stainless steels, and more. Sciaky’s patented IRISS™ closed-loop control provides consistent process control for part geometry, mechanical properties, microstructure, and metal chemistry for EBAM 3D printed parts, from the first part to the last. In addition, with an EBAM dual wirefeed option, you can combine two different metal alloys into a single melt pool to create “custom alloy” parts or ingots. Plus, you can change the mixture ratio of the two materials to create “graded” parts or structures.
