New SX3 SiAlON Grade
A new NTK SiAlON grade with the ideal combination of excellent wear resistance and toughness required for cutting Heat Resistant Super Alloys (HRSA). Machine the newest generation of HRSA work materials, like Rene’s, as well as today’s most common materials, such as Inconel 718, with confidence. SX3 grade is effective for roughing and semi-finishing of turning and milling applications, using RCGX, RNG, RPGX, SNG, SNGX geometries. Its superior strength, compared to competitor’s grades, is apparent with the insert’s boundary wear resistance resulting in longer tool life.
Productivity with NTK Ceramic End Mills
Machining Heat Resistant Super Alloys? NTK Cutting Tools has expanded its successful line of ceramic cutting tool products with a new Solid Ceramic End Mill that produces results of up to 20 X higher productivity running at speeds of up to 3000 SFM. Constructed of our durable SX9 SiAlON grade, the end mills feature a balance of toughness and wear resistance making them suitable for even the most demanding applications. The 4 and 6 flute options, currently available in inch and metric sizes, are designed with excellent edge toughness, less tool pressure, and better chip evacuation. Time to upgrade from carbide to NTK’s ceramic.
Hexalobular Socket Machining for Swiss Lathes
NTK developed Shaper Duo tools to create 6-lobe sockets faster and simpler. These tools generate less tool pressure than the rotary broach method. Cycle time is greatly reduced due to the efficient machining process vs. end milling. Shaper duo tooling is designed for positioning in the back spindle of Swiss machines. NTK carries a selection of hexalobular insert bars capable of machining T6 up to T30 socket sizes. Our Shaper Duo series includes insert selections for Hexagonal and square socket machining.
Cutting Speeds Soar with BIDEMICS
NTK Cutting tools introduces BIDEMICS, an industry changing product for machining Heat Resistant Super Alloys (HRSA). Your cutting speed potential can soar up to 1600SFM resulting in higher productivity for your applications; “Seeing is Believing” with BIDEMICS. Both JX1 and JP2, now include honed edge preparation (E02), for available geometries, expanding the scope of manufacturing applications. BIDEMICS’ impressive machining capabilities will be highlighted at CMTS 2017.
High Feed Aluminum Cutters
NTK Cutting Tools has an impressive line of High Feed Cutters (HFC) for milling aluminum. This series maximizes teeth/cutter, from 7 teeth on the 50mm diameter cutter to 22 teeth on a 125mm diameter cutter, to reduce production time. The lightweight construction allows more customers to utilize this product (the 125mm cutter weighs only 2.4lbs) and obtain speeds up to 20,000rpm. The coolant through mounting bolt provides excellent chip evacuation.
Groove Duo Modular Holders
NTK Cutting Tools’ new modular system tool-holders have the best rigidity in the industry today. Straight or L-style tool-holder construction for your specific application. Strong clamping and a special wedge design achieves higher accuracy and efficiency without vibrations or distortions. This rigid technology is applied to NTK’s VGW ceramic insert holders along with a line of holders for RCGX/RPGX ceramic inserts ideal for heat resistant alloy and steel mill roll machining.
Cut Max for up to 1.65 Inch Bar Stock
NTK designed CTWP Series Cut-off tooling to accept bar stock diameters up to 1.65 inch (42mm) ideal for new Swiss CNC Lathes that can feed these larger bar stock sizes. Cut Max features rigidity for improved reliability and productivity on these high load cut-off applications with shank sizes from ¾ to 1 inch and 20 to 25mm. The GWPFM inserts (3mm width) are made of our DM4 micro grain carbide grade featuring a thick multi-layer PVD coating for oxidation and heat resistance combined with toughness. The specially designed GT chip-breaker provides controlled chip evacuation and a folding action that creates tightly curled chips.
CX Chip-breaker Ideal for Cut-Off
NTK’s new “CX” 3D molded chip-breaker integrated with our CTP inserts solves common cut-off application issues. The unique insert features an up-sharp edge for clean material removal while the chip-breaker folds chips from both edges and rolls it creating a clean tight curl as opposed to long uncontrolled chips which damage the machined surface. They are constructed of NTK’s durable DM4 grade with the best oxidation and heat resistance. The CTP-CX neutral inserts can be used on our CTP series tool-holders which includes a Coolant through selection; CTP-OH.
