Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence will be exhibiting at WESTEC 2017 in booth #1303, and presenting a speaker’s session at the event. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from September 12 -14, 2017, Hexagon plans to exhibit a broad array of solutions at the event including: the Leica Absolute Tracker AT403, the ROMER Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI) series with RS4 scanner, the AICON MoveInspect XR8, and the Composite Inspection System for the ROMER Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI).
Delivering a full IP54 certification and an operating temperature range of -15°C to 45°C, the Leica Absolute Tracker AT403 is a "metrology workshop in a box" for technicians who need robust CMM capabilities for challenging measurement environments. The new laser tracker is ideal for large-scale manufacturing and inspection applications on the factory floor or in remote locations with its industry-leading, ultra-large measurement volume up to 1,049.87 ft.
The new ROMER Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI) series with RS4 scanner introduces an ultra-wide laser line nearly double the width of its predecessor, which translates to larger surface coverage and faster data collection. With a higher point resolution, ROMER users can obtain greater point cloud detail in significantly less time during a scanning session. The new designed profile of the RS4 also allows users to scan more deeply into difficult-to-reach cavities than ever before, with no reduction in accuracy performance.
The AICON MoveInspect XR8 is a new camera-based portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) for highly precise shop-floor measurements. The AICON MoveInspect XR8 detects geometric conditions and changes in three dimensions to deliver highly-accurate measurement data. Based on the renowned AICON MoveInspect Technology, the MoveInspect XR8 is the only measurement system able to simultaneously capture multiple points. This makes the system significantly faster in many applications, and capable of delivering time- and cost-saving benefits.
The Composite Inspection System for the ROMER Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI) is based on new Apodius 3D technology, and this combined hardware and software application package offers advanced inspection and analysis of lightweight carbon-fiber components at an unprecedented level of speed and detail. The system is comprised of a HP-C-V3D Apodius Vision Sensor camera-based scanning hardware – designed to fit on a ROMER Arm with Integrated Scanner – combined custom-built Apodius Explorer 3D real-time software package. Together, these parts deliver high-definition fiber orientation and geometry measurement and complete three-dimensional model creation and analysis, enabling organizations to see and correct difficult to define composite production errors.
Lastly, aerospace experts from Hexagon will be speaking at WESTEC 2017. The Shaping Automation and Smart Quality for Aerospace Applications presentation will be held on September 12, where advanced manufacturers will learn from an automation viewpoint how to leverage flexible measurement technologies to validate processes and enable data-driven decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence looks forward to seeing you at WESTEC 2017 in booth #1303.
