Welcome to the future! Breton’s latest machine, the Ultrix 1200 EVO, is the natural evolution of our Ultrix and Xceeder families with double the workspace of its predecessors yet an overall reduced footprint of 30%. Designed to meet the exacting standards of machining for the aerospace industry, it features a vertical spindle that allows for swift and easy positioning of work pieces and a rotating trunnion table that affords enhanced accessibility as well as easy removal of chips by rotating the A axis.

Offering unparalleled dynamics for high-productivity, 5-axis machining of aluminum components, the Ultrix 1200 EVO features a thermo-symmetric design to reduce and better control structural deformations due to temperature effects. Plus, all of its heating sources are cooled to avoid heat transfer to other components.

The Ultrix’s foundation is produced using Metalquartz®, a Breton patent, that is stronger and better than cast iron both from the standpoints of rigidity and vibration dumping, while the entire work area is covered with stainless steel. The result is a workspace that is light, easy to clean and virtually impervious to chip wear. All of the axes on the Ultrix 1200 EVO are pressurized as well, in order to avoid contamination.

Thanks to an innovative 600 Nm spindle and hydrostatic RAM, the Ultrix is capable of supporting heavy machining operations with minimal vibration dumping. Turning bar performance has been increased, thanks to a new available length of 17.7 inches, and it can be fitted with Capto C8 or HSK-T100 turning tools. The A axis is driven by two powerful torque motors and can be clamped using a double high torque brake, one on each side. A torque motor with capacity up to 450 RPM and 4500 Nm drives the turning table.

From the operator’s perspective, the Ultrix 1200 EVO offers unrivaled advantages and ease of use as well. All the machine’s components involved in preventive maintenance are grouped together in an easily accessible area, and tool change is managed automatically from the front of the machine. Different types of tool holders, including Capto and HSK, can also be managed automatically on the milling spindle, turning bar and angular heads.

One or two angular heads can be stored in the back of the machine with automatic loading and downloading, plus assembly with the RAM is based on a hydraulic clamping system which allows the Ultrix to transfer the full torque and power of the spindle.

CN on the Ultrix 1200 EVO can be adjusted both for height and inclination in order to increase the operator’s comfort, plus piece accessibility has been improved to allow the operator to get within .6 inches from the turning table. The machine’s roof can also be completely opened to easily load fixtures and pieces.

In short, Breton’s new Ultrix 1200 EVO and its sister machine, the Xceeder 1400 for milling, are the largest and most advanced of their types in today’s market and are designed to give companies accessibility and performance never before available in the aerospace market. Unparalleled productivity without compromises. That’s the Breton way.

As with our Ultrix 1200 EVO, Breton’s new Xceeder 1400 was specially designed to meet and exceed the demanding requirements of machining for the aerospace, precision engineering and die manufacturing industries. In fact, this 5-axis, high-speed vertical machining center is the ideal solution for milling medium-sized workpieces in super alloys, steel, aluminum and composite materials.

Utilizing a foundation constructed from Breton’s patented Metalquartz® technology, the Xceeder 1400 is designed to deliver superior stability compared to conventional metal or engineered-polymer based machining centers. Plus, the Xceeder reduces vibrations by more than 10 times the amount achieved by its rivals.

A vertical spindle and rotating trunnion table with direct drive ensure swift and easy positioning, as well as enhanced access, to work pieces, while the Xceeder 1400’s thermo-symmetric design also helps reduce and better control structural deformations due to temperature fluctuations. In fact, all of the machine’s heating sources are cooled to avoid heat transfer to other components.

From the operator’s perspective, the Xceeder 1400 offers unrivaled advantages and ease of use as well. All of the machine’s components involved in preventive maintenance are grouped together in an easily accessible area, and tool change is managed automatically from the front of the machine. Tool magazines for holding 30, 60 or 150 tools are available and can also be managed automatically. One or two angular heads can be stored in the back of the machine with automatic loading and downloading, plus assembly with the RAM is based on a hydraulic clamping system that allows the Xceeder to transfer the full torque and power of the spindle.

CN on the Xceeder 1400 can be adjusted both for height and inclination in order to increase the operator’s comfort, plus piece accessibility has been improved allowing users to get within .6 inches from the trunnion table. The machine’s roof can also be completely opened to easily load fixtures and pieces.

In short, Breton’s new Xceeder 1400 is the largest and most advanced milling machine of its type and offers companies accessibility and performance never before available in the aerospace, precision engineering and die manufacturing industries. Unparalleled productivity without compromises. That’s the Breton way.

Get ready North America. The Eagle has landed, and it is transforming the way the aerospace, model making, and die manufacturing industries perform the milling and machining of composites, resins, and light alloys.

Breton’s new Eagle is a 5-axis, vertical, high-speed CNC milling and machining center that is the ideal solution for medium and large sized workpieces. Featuring a rigid gantry design; symmetrical, continuous 5-axis twist heads; and a range of fast, powerful electro spindles, the Eagle is perfect for creating models, contouring plastic, milling composites and sandwich materials, and for machining complex workpieces in light alloys.

Plus, it features Breton’s own state-of-the-art software specially developed to monitor and control thermal expansion and drift, regardless of operational and production conditions.

As with all Breton equipment, the Eagle was built with the operator in mind and offers a broad choice of configurations designed to provide maximum flexibility, performance, and efficiency for machining both single pieces and batch operations. Among these features are a work area with enhanced visibility, front and rear access to the machine to facilitate easy loading and unloading, and an advanced touch screen for programming and monitoring machine and tool operations.
