Yo-Yo Cookies® and an all-butter shortbread that sandwiches an all-butter buttercream. They are still made using skilled hands along with a bit of machinery.  Yo-Yo Cookies® are a time-honoured tradition in New Zealand and Australia They are made with the standards of when they were created over 100 years ago! Made in the Maritimes, Yo-Yo Cookies® are distributed through independent and corporate retailers.

The Yo-Yo Cookie® dates to the early 1900s and its history can be easily traced. They were originally made in Australia, by two German immigrants, John and Magdalena Menz who packaged the cookie in a box, around the late 1800’s. The Yo-Yo Cookie® became widely know in the South Pacific and soon became a favourite of home-bakers. These cookies have been made in the homes of Australasian’s for decades, and these home-bakers have invented many flavour combinations.

Here in Yo-Yo Land Canada, we too started with a 50 year old family recipe. We have tweaked and adjusted that recipe over time to create our edition. Our version is just that – our take on a tradition started over a century ago. The people we secretly pay say – “often copied, never beaten”.

Brands: We are a always striving for the perfect shortbread and have expanded from Yo-Yo Cookies® and added ‘Little’s’ a traditional Irish shortbread that we offer for food service.
