The Joseph Freedman Co., Inc., was founded in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts by Joseph Freedman, great grandfather of the current company president, John D. Freedman. Fulfilling an important need for American industry, the company built a reputation for being one of the pioneering leaders in industrial scrap metal recycling, specializing in aluminum, copper, nickel alloys and aircraft scrap. From horse and wagon to today's radio/cellular dispatched vehicles, from hand selection and separation to today's highly sophisticated on-site analytical testing equipment, we are one of the oldest and largest family owned and operated scrap metal recycling facilities in the Northeast.
JFCO operates two Springfield, Massachusetts facilities. Our main facility on Stevens St., and our chopping operation on Albany St; We provide services to all mfg. in the New England area. JFCO also provides products for re-melt applications and ships direct to mills and foundrys all over the globe.
