CLOOS North America

At CLOOS North America, we believe good welding automation doesn’t happen by chance. It takes experience, the right tools, and a commitment to getting it right. We’ve been at it since 1919, and since opening our doors in North America in 1985, we’ve helped manufacturers of all sizes build systems that deliver results.
We’re not here to sell cookie-cutter solutions. We work with you to design automation that fits your operation, whether that’s a single welding cell or a fully automated line. As pioneers in tandem welding technology, we know how to push efficiency and precision without cutting corners.
Our team brings real-world expertise to every project. With more than 950 people worldwide and a dedicated North American support group, we’re here when you need answers, guidance, or hands-on help.
We’re trusted in over 40 countries because we stick to what works: reliable systems, quality engineering, and support you can count on. If you’re looking to take welding automation seriously, we’re ready to get to work.

Schaumburg, IL, July 20, 2025 – CLOOS North America, a subsidiary of CLOOS Group, launches Expert Arc, a new line of modular, pre-engineered robotic welding cells designed for fast deployment, easy operation, and scalable automation. Built for both high-output production and the flexibility required by job shops, Expert Arc makes advanced robotic welding more accessible than ever before. Various configurations of Expert Arc welding cells will be showcased at FABTECH 2025, September 8 - 11 in Chicago, Illinois, Booth B17051.
Smart Design – Modular Flexibility
The CLOOS Expert Arc system is engineered around a modular platform that includes proven components: a robotic arm, controller, power supply, seam tracking, and touch sensing. These pre-configured elements can be tailored to suit each user’s specific application, delivering a customized, turnkey welding solution that’s quick and easy to implement.
Core configurations include:
Expert Arc HS-20 is designed for heavy and oversized parts that require robust handling. This dual-station cell features an extended work envelope and precision positioning, allowing operators to prepare parts in one zone while welding continues in the other. With its expanded capacity and user-friendly controls, the HS-20 delivers consistent weld quality and increased productivity for high-demand applications.
Expert Arc HS-10 is ideal for welding large or complex parts. This dual-zone cell features a centrally mounted robot that enables part loading in one zone while welding continues in the other, maximizing productivity and arc-on time.
Expert Arc ST-05 is a cost-effective solution perfect for shops new to automation. This entry-level cell offers a simplified user interface, small footprint, and a fully integrated system that’s pre-tested and ready to weld, helping fabricators get up and running in days, not months.
Engineered for Performance – Designed for Simplicity
Every Expert Arc cell is built to deliver high-performance welding in a compact, efficient footprint. Designed with ease of use in mind, the system requires minimal operator training with no robotic engineering experience necessary. Fast part loading, intuitive programming, and German-engineered precision ensure consistent weld quality and reduced downtime.
Whether you’re a high-volume manufacturer or a growing job shop, Expert Arc delivers the performance and reliability you need to take your welding operation to the next level.

Schaumburg, IL, July 20, 2025 – CLOOS North America, a subsidiary of CLOOS Group, unveils the new TANDEM+ MIG/MAG welding process at FABTECH 2025, September 8 - 11 in Chicago, Illinois, Booth B17051. Based on a unique three-wire system, TANDEM+ offers up to 30 percent higher deposition rates compared to the previous Tandem Weld technology. It raises the deposition rate to a completely new level with a reduced number of welding layers and shorter welding times. The new TANDEM+ process will make its world debut at FABTECH in live demonstrations operating in a fully automated robot cell.
Innovative Three-wire Process
TANDEM+ was developed for applications with high demands on deposition rate and process reliability. This high-capacity process combines two independent arcs with a filler wire in a molten pool. The innovative three-wire process guarantees maximum stability and optimum results even for complex welding tasks. It delivers fewer welding layers and intermediate layer cleaning, shorter welding times and significantly reduced rework effort overall. The reduced programming effort also simplifies handling and shortens set-up times.
A flexible process, TANDEM+ is easily adapted to different materials and applications. TANDEM+ is especially suitable for large-volume welding in sectors such as rail vehicle construction, wind power, steel and boiler construction and the construction machinery industry, wherever thick-walled components must be welded in multiple layers.
Easy Upgrade
Existing welding systems with tandem technology can be easily converted to TANDEM+ with an upgrade kit, offering a quick and economical entry into the next generation of MIG/MAG welding.
