  BOURNEMOUTH, UK, April 2025 – Lasermet, the global leader in laser safety solutions, announces the launch of the Caiman Laser Safety Door Controller, engineered to set a new benchmark in high-risk laser environment safety. Designed for seamless integration into doors and observation windows across medical, research, and industrial settings, Caiman delivers passive blocking laser protection and interlock safety.
  
  Caiman features an innovative laser-blocking polycarbonate composite in its slats, specifically developed to shield against stray beams from lasers. The system complies with IEC 60825-4 standards and incorporates Performance Level ‘e’ dual channel interlock technology, delivering the highest level of protection against accidental exposure.
  
  The core differentiator? Dual-mode visibility. With a simple lever adjustment, users can transition between full laser protection and controlled transparency. • Lasermet launches the Enhanced Air-cooled Beam Dump: BD-AC-16 and BD-AC-1 (Jul 14, 2025)
  BOURNEMOUTH, UK, June 2025 – Lasermet, the global leader in laser safety systems, announces the launch of their redesigned BD-AC-16 Air-cooled Beam Dump featuring a 16mm beam aperture and an enhanced heat sink for faster and more efficient heat dissipation. Made from high thermal conductivity anodized aluminium material, it ensures reliable performance and prevents overheating even under demanding conditions. The redesigned beam dump retains its functionality whilst innovating and improving its reliability and efficiency. In comparison to its predecessor prototype, the new design features a larger overall size and an increased fin count. The fins surrounding the beam dump are designed to be moderately thick and evenly spaced in between as to assist with the natural convection cooling inside the beam dump. These changes aim to improve heat dissipation through increased surface area and enhanced convection, protecting the structure from thermal damage and extending its lifespan.
  
  Temperature Monitoring
  The air-cooled beam dump has two models available to the market – the standard model, BD-AC-16 and an upgraded variant– BD-AC-16TR. The BD-AC-16TR is an air-cooled beam dump with a temperature read-out display. It continuously monitors the temperature inside the beam dump and displays real time temperature status on the display screen. The temperature read-out unit is also programmable to reflect Celsius (ºC) or Fahrenheit (ºF). In case of laser operations where the beam dump is not directly accessible or viewable, temperature monitoring is still possible by connecting the beam dump to a computer using a communication module, allowing comprehensive remote diagnostics.
  
  Laser Shutter and Beam Dump Compatibility
  Beam dumps are essential safety components in laser systems and are typically paired with laser shutters. In contrast to a beam shutter, a beam dump cannot be deactivated and has no mechanical mechanism – it relies on its reliable design and thermal performance to safely absorb and dissipate the laser beam and energy. In beam shutter configurations, the beam dump must be precisely aligned and capable of absorbing the full power and wavelength to prevent stray reflections that could harm personnel or damage equipment. Proper compatibility ensures accurate beam termination, effective heat dissipation, and reliable system performance while being compliant with laser safety standards. The BD-AC-16 and BD-AC-16TR is compatible with OEM laser shutters or can be directly fixed to a laser shutter with a 16mm beam dump port. They are also fully compatible with Lasermet's LS-20 and LS-30 Series of Laser Beam Shutters, ensuring easy installation and dependable performance.
