  • LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL., November 6, 2019 - The Chemical Coaters Association International will offer their popular training manuals in Spanish.  Translations of all five existing manuals are in progress and expected to be complete the first half of 2020. The System Design for Industrial Finishing Applications and Pretreatment for Industrial Finishing Applications manuals are complete and available for purchase at FABTECH in the CCAI Booth, B13026. Orders can also be placed at the booth for the Powder Coating for Industrial Finishing Applications manual, which will be completed before the end of the calendar year. The Liquid Coatings & Equipment for Industrial Finishing Applications and Electrodeposition manuals will follow and are expected to be available in 2020.

Previous editions of the pretreatment and powder coating manuals had been translated, but these will be the first Spanish versions for the system design, electrodeposition and liquid  coatings & equipment manuals. Anne Goyer, CCAI’s Executive Director, notes, “CCAI is a partner in FABTECH Mexico, has members located in Mexico, and many of our members across the U.S. employ Spanish-speaking personnel, which drove the board’s decision to invest in translating all of our training manuals. Our manuals have been revised multiple times since the first two were translated to Spanish. The board feels it is time to bring the original two translations up to date and to translate the remaining manuals as well. We believe our manuals in Spanish will provide a great resource for our members and FABTECH Mexico attendees.”

CCAI member, native Spanish-speaking experts who regularly do business in Mexico are thoroughly reviewing the translation of each manual to ensure accuracy. Antonio Tapia of Coral Chemical Co., a board member of the CCAI Southern California chapter and manual reviewer, feels this translation is an important next step for the Association. He states, “CCAI strives to be up-to-date in the education of all their members and end users. These translations will reach beyond the classroom; they will provide a tool for the leadmen, supervisors and owners to communicate with operators and technicians in their language. This effort is making a big move forward in the meaning of the International part of our association.”

CCAI Spanish training manuals can be purchased by visiting CCAI’s online store at www.ccaiweb.com/store, by phone at 859-356-1030, or in the CCAI booth at FABTECH 2019 and FABTECH Mexico 2020.
