  • The patented ADAPTIVE DFS (DEPRAG FASTENING SYSTEM) uses an EC-Servo Drive for feed stroke instead of a pneumatic cylinder. This enables us to automatically detect the point of penetration, regardless of material tolerances. By adjusting to actual conditions, the effort of setting numerous parameters is greatly reduced and the joining process always runs optimally. Since the recognition of point-of-penetration is independent of fastener and product tolerances, the process automatically adjusts, resulting in an optimized cycle with the highest reliability, shortest cycle time, less material stress, and reduced set-up time.

    In addition to the EC-Servo screwdriver, this revolutionary tool uses EC-Servo technology for linear press stroke to generate the substantial downforces needed. Unlike widely used pneumatic cylinders with proportional valves, ADAPTIVE DFS is capable of instantaneously changing force, which is essential for this unique fastening technique. The compact and modular unibody design, as well as the closed loop control system, unlock DEPRAG’s unique adaptive capability, making this a true engineering marvel. A cylinder is just no match!

  • DEPRAG Clamp Force Control (CFC) produces a consistent clamp force when prevailing torque values are fluctuating. This innovative adaptive screwdriving process works by recognizing the head contact (seating point) and customizes the screw assembly by applying differential torque or alternatively a defined angle.

    This adaptive screwdriving procedure ensures a constant clamp force when drive-in torque values are fluctuating. The whole screw assembly consists of the head contact recognition and a screw assembly to differential torque or a specific angle.

    The typical area of application is direct screwdriving into plastic and metal. The new screwdriving procedure for DEPRAG EC servo screwdrivers in combination with the AST40 is used for hugely varying tightening torques.

    These fluctuations may result from alterations in the geometry of the screws or hole, the component’s material structure, variations in the surface quality of the screw thread, the elasticity of elements or seating processes. The positive recognition of head contact results in a constant clamp force.

  • DEPRAG SFM (Screwdriver Function Modules) are the basis of any automated, process-reliable screw-assembly. You benefit from our long-standing experience in the fields of screwdriving technology and assembly automation. We offer both single-spindle and multi-spindle units in different executions, such as:

    • Standard execution
      slender design for horizontal or vertical screwdriving.
    • Short execution
      for limited space access.
    • Underfloor execution
      for a vertical, inverted assembly.
    • Vacuum execution
      for difficult to access or recessed screw-locations in any assembly direction.
    • Pick & Place execution
