Tend Introduces 1st Factory Optimization Analytics Platform that Combines Robot and PLC Data.

The only affordable plug and play solution to reduce downtime without programming or expensive consulting.

Leading manufacturers use In.production™ software from Tend to reduce factory downtime by 50% or more.

Long Beach, CA – Sept 22, 2019:  Tend announces the immediate availability of the first “plug and play” software solution for factory optimization that blends robot alarms, alerts and data streams with the rest of the data from automation cells. In.production is based on a proprietary machine-learning software engine that runs in the factory, using anomaly detection to allow manufacturers to address chronic problems and potential failures throughout the factory to minimize a loss of production.  Some unique attributes of In.production include:

    • Analyzes data from most robot manufacturers and PLCs to provide complete device visibility across the factory

    • No programming. Factory managers configure alarms and alerts from all devices to produce actionable reporting

    • Any factory device that produces data can be monitored for faults and analyzed for predictive maintenance

    • Immediate resolution to faults via remote access to the robots and PLCs via smart phones, tablets and PCs

    • Compatible with major shop floor machine monitoring software applications like from Tulip.co

  • Long Beach, CA - August 1, 2019

Futura-Automation.com and its partner, Tulip Interfaces, along with several additional manufacturing technology partners will demonstrate a fully functioning AGILE manufacturing environment at WESTEC 2019 in Long Beach, CA on September 24-26 at Booth #1560.

Manufacturing is evolving rapidly to a new paradigm: Industry 4.0, the Fourth Industrial Revolution.  Industry 4.0, the digitization of manufacturing, embodies both Lean Manufacturing and Agile Manufacturing concepts driving the acceleration of product development, keeping up with the pace of global demand, with better product quality at ever lower prices.

Increasingly, the favored approach to manufacturing has become Agile. Across industries and verticals, manufacturers apply Agile methods to access faster time to market and increased resilience in a time of frequent technology disruption and social preferences. Initially designed for software development, Agile Manufacturing allows manufacturers to harness a fast rate of change for competitive advantage.

By emphasizing rapid iteration, operator augmentation, operational flexibility, and bottom-up innovation, Agile Manufacturing enables a fast response to customer demands while empowering workers to innovate.  Agile is designed for the new 3D printed manufacturing environment and other high mix and low volume manufacturing techniques, including Augmented Reality (AR) digital work instructions, a technique on display at the Futura Automation exhibit.

Visitors to WESTEC 2019 Booth #1560 will see a live example of Industry 4.0 with multiple machine types and robots connected via the "cloud" over OPC UA.  Syntec America will provide a CNC upgrade using Servotronix servo drives; Fanuc will provide a robot demo that is monitored by a Tend.ai module; Tulip Interfaces software will monitor the machines using a Weintek OPC UA gateway and provide operators with digital work instructions in a live demonstration of Agile technology.
