AddUp was formed on April 1st, 2016 following the decision of two leading industrial firms, Fives and Michelin, to create a major player in metal 3D printing. This joint venture’s ambition is to bring the benefits of its experience and know-how to customers by developing and marketing industrial machines and production lines on a worldwide scale using metal additive manufacturing technology, commonly known as metal 3D printing.

In September 2018, AddUp increased its production capacity by acquiring a stake in Poly-Shape, a leading metal additive manufacturing expert in Europe with a strong presence in the motorsport sector. Thanks to Poly-Shape, AddUp can now offer its customers unique access to multiple metal additive and post-processing technologies and materials to help them determine the best technological solution for their production needs.

AddUp’s offer has integrated LBM (Laser Beam Melting) technology as well as DED (Directed Energy Deposition) technology since its acquisition of BeAM in June 2018. AddUp, with its head office in Clermont-Ferrand and subsidiaries in the United States and Singapore, currently employs more than 300 people.

  • The FormUp® 350 is an industrial metal additive manufacturing machine which uses multi-laser beam melting technology to produce mass production components or prototyping. With its 350 x 350 x 350 mm production zone and dual 500W Yb fiber lasers, the FormUp® 350 enables fast, reliable and precise production of metal parts directly from CAD data.

    Combining a bidirectional roller with fine powders, robust lasers and precise optics systems, the FormUp® 350 is capable of printing shallow angles (under 10⁰) and wide arches (70 mm) with no supports. Parts produced on this machine exhibit some of the best resolution and surface finishes in the metal AM industry.

  • The FlexCare is a turnkey metal AM production module built to consider the health, safety and environmental aspects of working with metallic powders. The system includes a fully integrated HVAC, coupled with patented airlock technology, to control the atmosphere even as materials and operators enter and exit.  The FlexCare neatly houses the FormUp350 including the fully inert powder charging, evacuation and recycling equipment. The FlexCare offers a fast, economical alternative for safely supporting and operating an end to end metal 3D printing process.
