Serra Laser - LightWELD and LightSAFE

We will demonstrate the new IPG LightWELD hand held Laser Welder. The LightWELD will weld Aluminum, SS, Steel, Titanium, copper, and brass, using wire or no wire. Welding with a laser welder introduces way less heat into a part and almost no spatter, so clean up is very easy. Instead of expensive argon shield gas nitrogen shield gas can be used for aluminum, SS, and steel. Welding wire consumption is greatly reduced as the wire used is only the length of the weld itself. The LightWELDER will be demonstrated inside the new light tight LightSAFE welding enclosure specially designed to make LightWELDing safe, and can be located anywhere in a shop. The LightSAFE is movable on free stroke bearings and can be repositioned. Modular construction the LightSAFE can be expanded and added to in the future. Layouts include corner (2 walls), wall (3 walls), and island (4 walls) configuration. Optional Welding fume extraction from Nederman can be added, as well as Siegmund welding tables out of Europe. Financing is available with no money down and payments from 2 to 5 years. Training is included at Serra Laser where we operate a IPG Demo and Training center, conveniently located in Anaheim, California. • IPG LightWELD - HAND HELD LASER WELDER (Aug 01, 2021)
  IPG LightWELDER - the new handheld laser welder will be demonstrated at the Westec show inside the LightSAFE laser welding enclosure. Since its introduction in 2021 the LightWELDER is now bringing a new paradigm to welding. Easy to learn and use the LightWELDER welds aluminum, SS, steel, titanium, and most metals. Less heat distortion, no splatter to clean up, less wire consumption, and reduced shield gas costs are a few of the benefits of LightWELDING. Superior welds without beveling with full penetration to .160. Blind spot welding without electrodes or predrilling is another benefit. The LightWELDER comes with preset welding conditions and includes an ethernet connection and its own IP address. This allows custom welding conditions to be developed, downloads of new welding conditions by IPG, and over the internet diagnostics. Supported nationwide by IPG local service engineers. Priced around $20,000 the IPG LightWELDer is available in 16 feet or 32 feet fiber optic cable lengths. Financing is available over 2 - 5 years with no money down on approved credit.

• LightSAFE for IPG LightWELDER (Aug 01, 2021)
  The LightSAFE is a new laser welding enclosure system designed to be used with the IPG LightWELDER. Modular in construction the LightSAFE is a ANSI 136-1 compliant structure that is movable, and expandable. It can be configured for installation in a corner, along a wall, or as an island set up. The LightSAFE is a light tight system and blocks laser light from escaping, and also features a beam blocker panel that is located behind the welding table. Options include specialized lighting, Nederman welding fume extractors, and Siegmund welding tables. 

• LightWELDER XC - Laser Welding and Cleaning (Oct 16, 2021)
  IPG has introduced a new model in the LightWELD series called the LightWELD 1500 XC. The XC model adds an enhanced cleaning mode to the standard LightWELD 1500. Identical in welding capabilities to the LightWELD 1500 hand held laser the XC has been engineered to  add laser cleaning. A new nozzle system will create a .600 cleaning path. IPG has developed cleaning conditions that can be recalled with a two digit alpha numeric code making it very easy for set up. Operations can be switched from Laser Welding to Laser Cleaning in under a minute thus enhancing the capabilities of the LightWELDER. Rust and dirt can be removed from material without chemicals, and welds can be cleaned of heat and oxidation marks after laser welding. Both the standard LightWELDER and the new LightWELD 1500 XC models will be demonstrated.
