English Language Programs- 50 years of impact

Since 1969, the English Language Fellow Program has sent thousands of experienced U.S. TESOL professionals on 10-month paid teaching projects at academic institutions around the world. Fellows assist U.S. Embassies to enhance English language teaching capacity overseas and increase mutual understanding through cultural exchange. In return, the program provides professionals with a platform to build skills that can greatly enhance their TESOL careers.

With assignments in more than 80 countries, the Fellow Program is the premier opportunity to enact meaningful and sustainable changes in the way that English is taught abroad. Fellows receive prestigious placements at local universities, education ministries, teacher training colleges, and other academic institutions where they work directly with local teachers, students, and educational professionals to enhance the quality of English language instruction offered. Their work primarily focuses on helping students acquire English language skills, leading teacher training, developing resources, and conducting program evaluations.
