Montauk is a fishing community, east of the lavish shoreline mansions, 5-star restaurants, and overpriced hotel rooms of the Hamptons.As in recent years the soul of Montauk has slowly slipped away, with less and less younger generations taking part in the local fishing community. Montauk’s fishing industry was originally founded on the resilience of bay men and commercial fishermen, not only fighting to overcome the storms of Mother Nature, but the influx of outsiders settling into their communities and changing forever the ways of life for the men and woman of the sea.
