  • CHICAGO, IL – ECHO has received recognition for three of its newest products in the annual Pro Tool Innovation Awards (PTIA) program. The program seeks to discover and recognize the most innovative tools in the residential and commercial construction industry across a wide variety of categories.

A panel of professional tradesmen and trade media representatives from the U.S. and Canada identified ECHO’s new PB-8010 Backpack Blower, the PB-2620 Handheld Blower and the SRM-3O20 Trimmer series.

“Manufactures are consistently improving their tools. Each year, however, some exceed the norms and develop products which truly deserve recognition,” says Clint DeBoer, Executive Director of the Pro Tool Innovation Awards. “Business owners, builders, contractors and tradespeople really need to understand which products can help them work smarter and more efficiently. Often, they can also save a lot of money in either material costs or time-savings. That innovation goes straight into their pocketbook.”

Here are samplings of what the judges had to say about the winning ECHO products.
“CFM or MPH—what’s the more important number in comparing blowers? Newtons, actually. Newtons (N) describe the amount of force a blower applies at the end of its nozzle. It’s the number you really want to pay attention to. ECHO got our attention with their new PB-8010 that boasts a monstrous 44.4 Newtons—more than you’ll find anywhere else.”

“When the job calls for less force than a backpack blower, ECHO’s new PB-2620 offers 15.8 Newtons of blowing force in a lighter package to cover hard surface and leaf blowing. Its combination of power, speed, build quality, and features set it apart as a great option for Pros or property owners right at the $200 price point.”
“Echo makes a jump up in size from a 25.4cc engine to a 30.5cc model that gives you more power without moving to a high torque gear ratio. Even with the move up, they still keep the weight reasonable at 13.7 pounds dry with the head and guard installed. It gets wrapped up in a package that’s suitable for Pro use and backed by a 2-year commercial warranty (5-year consumer).”

This year over 60 different tool manufactures submitted nearly 300 tool entries in dozens of categories for a shot to win a 2018 Pro Tool innovation Award. Winners were decided based on industry innovation and demonstrated achievement in any combination of the following: innovative features: advanced power delivery, groundbreaking ergonomics, technological advancements, and value. The Pro Tool Innovation Awards recognized best-in-class products that are truly ahead of their time.

  • Chicago, IL (10/2/2018) - After taking the trimmer category by storm with its high-performance SRM-2620 and SRM-3020-series trimmers, ECHO is looking to further strengthen its leadership position in the blower category with not just one, but two category-leading blowers for 2019 – the PB-8010 and PB-2620.

The new PB-8010 backpack blower features a new 79.9cc engine which delivers the highest blowing performance of any backpack blower on the market – 1071 CFM and 211 MPH, with an incredible 44 Newtons according to the ANSI B175.2 standard. That’s at least 7% more performance than any other backpack blower on the market. All that performance is directed onto the nearest unsuspecting pile of leaves through huge 3.6” diameter blower tubes, featuring a wear ring on the end to prevent wear.

The PB-8010 also features an industry-first carbon fiber plastic frame and fan case. This new technology cuts 1.9 pounds of weight compared to standard plastic material, and allows the PB-8010T to tip the scales at just 24.5 lbs, comparable with ECHO’s popular PB-770T.

Rounding out this game-changing model is an oversized pleated paper main filter and foam prefilter for use in high-dust environments, along with tool-less latches for easy in-field maintenance. An extra-large 83.8 oz fuel tank delivers long run times, and padded backpack straps and a padded backrest keep things comfortable for all-day use. The ECHO-original vented backpack frame draws air across the user’s back to keep you cool in hot weather, and a block-off plate is included for use in cooler weather.

The PB-8010 is available with either a tube-mounted throttle (PB-8010T) or a hip-mounted throttle (PB-8010H) for an MSRP of $599.99.

Not content with only having the highest-performance backpack blower, ECHO is also introducing the highest performance professional handheld blower on the market, the PB-2620. This model features strong 456 CFM and 172 MPH performance, with 15.8 Newtons of performance according to ANSI B175.2.

The PB-2620 combines this category-leading performance with numerous features that professionals demand: chrome cylinder plating; a pleated paper main filter and foam prefilter with tool-less access allowing for use in high-dust environments; best-in-class hot restartability; and an oversized 20.3 oz. fuel tank. All ensure that the PB-2620 will keep delivering performance even in the summer heat.

A rubber main handle, a secondary handle and variable locking cruise control help keep user’s hands comfortable during long usage periods. The blower comes with both a round-end pipe (with patented wear ring) and flared-end pipe, allowing output to be tailored to the job. The PB-2620 is available at an MSRP of $199.99.

Come see both the PB-8010 and the PB-2620 at ECHO’s indoor booth at GIE + EXPO in Louisville, KY on Oct 17-19th, or take them for a whirl at the Outdoor Performance Circuit. Both models will be available at ECHO dealers starting in autumn 2018, and feature ECHO’s 2-year commercial/5-year consumer warranty.

Seeing is believing. Visit YouTube or www.echo-usa.com to see the blowers in action.

The ECHO PB-8010 and PB-2620 are the latest additions to the ECHO X Series which now includes 28 of ECHO’s best-in-class products designed for pro users. The X Series label identifies ECHO’s most powerful, lightweight and most productive products.
  • CHICAGO, IL – With the growing interest in outdoor entertainment and landscape contractors addressing that need, ECHO is introducing the CSG-7410 cut-off saw at this year’s GIE+EXPO trade show in Louisville.

The CSG-7410 offers the highest cutting torque in its class and one of the best air cleaning systems on the market, not to mention more professional features than comparable cut-off saws in its price range.

Powered by a 73.5 cc two-stroke commercial grade engine, the CSG-7410’s high cutting torque is attributable to a 2.6:1 drive ratio of the wheel pulley to the drive pulley. High torque translates into a greater ability to cut through thick masonry blocks or dense concrete without bogging down in the cut.
The patented 4-stage air cleaner system protects the engine for longer life. The CSG-7410 is extremely easy to start due to the spring-assist starter, decompression valve, choke with automatic fast idle and purge bulb. The starter system is completely sealed.

The saw also has a reversible cutting arm with a standard position for normal cutting and a reversed (outside mount) position to cut close to buildings or ground obstacles.

Other features include a stainless steel shield for high strength and corrosion resistance; aluminum handle with rubber grip for comfort and vibration reduction; translucent fuel tank; a momentary stop switch automatically returns to “on” position; and standard water kit with brass valve and quick release adaptor.
The CSG-7410 is available this fall at an $899.99 MSRP and with a one year warranty. It will be demonstrated in ECHO’s outdoor Performance Circuit (booth #7451D) during the GIE+EXPO, October 18 and 19.

  • CHICAGO, IL –   Professional chain saw artist Jason Emmons, of Bear Hollow Wood Carvers, is putting his talent to use in support of animal rehabilitation, rescue and adoption during the GIE+EXPO in Louisville, KY this October.

Emmons will be carving in ECHO’s outdoor Performance Circuit (booth #7451D) on Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19.  His sculptures will be auctioned at the Kentucky Humane Society’s 2019 annual August fundraiser, Tux and Tales Gala.

Emmons is the ideal person to carve for the KHS. His carving career originally began by specializing in pet memorial wood sculptures. His business Bear Hollow Wood Carvers of French Lick, IN now runs several teams of professional chain saw carvers appearing around the country specializing in high end wood sculptures.

The GIE+EXPO also is supporting the KHS with a pet adoption drive during the show. In partnership with the KHS, MUTT MADNESS takes place Thursday, October 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center during the show.  The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) along with their environmental education and stewardship program TurfMutt (Backyard Superhero) will donate $10,000 to KHS.

“Why are we doing this? Well, parents know kids want a house with a yard because kids want a house with a dog,” says Kris Kiser, President of OPEI. “And, who knows your yard best? Your dog. Who empowers the making of that yard? The exhibitors, partners and attendees of GIE+EXPO. It made sense to pull them together.” He notes that the event is also ideal for pet adoption because thousands of GIE+EXPO attendees drive to the event, making it easier for them to bring home a rescued pet.
