Welcome to CTOS-Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training

CTOS is the nation’s premier Radiological/Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction Counter Terrorism training center. The U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) CTOS–Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training at the Nevada National Security Site (CTOS/NNSS), Las Vegas, Nevada, has trained America’s First Responders since 1998. CTOS represents the NNSA’s Nevada Field Office (NSO) and is a charter member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC).  CTOS training prepares state, local, and tribal responders to take immediate, decisive action in preventing or responding to terrorist use of a radiological/nuclear weapon of mass destruction (WMD).

Training is federally funded, hands-on, performance-based and is delivered via resident and mobile classes.  Web based training is also available.  All CTOS training is provided free to all state, local, and tribal responders and their agencies.  CTOS covers travel, lodging, and per diem costs for resident training.  For mobile training, agencies must only provide the training location and minimum student numbers, CTOS provides everything else.
