For 75 years, Simmons Knife & Saw has manufactured bandknife blades, bandsaw blades, and blades for reciprocating applications right here in the USA. We partner with customers in foam fabrication, as well as a dozen other industries, to find the creative cutting solutions their operations require, and we've built up quite the product offering along the way.

  • Produced from high carbon steel and joined with precise, reliable welds, Simmons’ Wide Knife Edge blade is designed to fit a wide variety of machinery. This allows it to withstand variable feed rates while still maintaining a sharp edge throughout slicing, splitting, or peeling operations.

    Tru-Trak®, Ultra Tru-Trak®, and Max-Track Finish

    Simmons offers Wide Knife Edge blades in both Tru-Trak® and Ultra Tru-Trak® finishes. While Tru-Trak blades are finished on the front and back edges to aid in the tracking of the blade, our premium Ultra Tru-Trak blades are finished on all surfaces to ensure better tracking and minimal blade movement during machine operation. For extremely tight tolerance cutting applications, we recommend using Simmons’ Max-Track blades for the highest quality finish available.

    All Tru-Trak, Ultra Tru-Trak, and Max-Track bandknife blades are marked with a serial number for production control and traceability purposes.

    Since our Scallop blade first put us on the map in 1946, we’ve learned to standardize each step of the manufacturing process to ensure every Scallop blade that leaves our facility is exactly as precise and unblemished as the one that came before. This consistency in bevel geometry and edge retention provides even cuts with a clean finish every time.

    Scallop blades are available in both band and cut-to-length form in a variety of pitch options. We also offer custom hole and rivet configurations for reciprocating applications like bread, meat, and cheese slicing.

  • If you’re cutting firm or dense foams, you should consider using our C-Tooth blade. A more aggressive option than our V-Tooth blade, the vertical edge of the C-Tooth is designed to enter the product first, providing a precise, clean cut. The shape of the teeth also allows you to run C-Tooth blades in the opposite direction for a gentler slicing action.

    Standard C-Tooth blades are available in 10 and 14 TPI, but if you’re looking for a more aggressive cut, we recommend a blade with less TPI. While it may sound counterintuitive, a lower TPI results in a bigger tooth, and a blade with bigger teeth slices more aggressively through dense or rigid foams (and other applications).

    C-Tooth blades are also available in 4, 6, and 8 TPI, and Simmons can produce special tooth configurations for custom applications upon request.

  • As a more aggressive alternative to our Knife and Scallop Edge blades, the V-Tooth bandsaw blade is ideal for cutting through a wide range of foam types. It’s also a great blade to start with if you’re in the foam fabrication industry and aren’t quite sure what you’re looking for. The blade’s teeth work to penetrate material, which provides a faster cut than a standard Knife Edge blade while still creating minimal dust or waste. V-Tooth blades also eliminate the need for a sharpening or grinding system within your cutting machinery.

    A 14 teeth per inch (TPI) V-Tooth blade is the most common size for foam cutting, but if you’re looking for a more aggressive cut, we recommend a 10 TPI blade. While it may sound counterintuitive, a lower TPI results in a bigger tooth, and a blade with bigger teeth slices more aggressively through dense or rigid foams (and other applications).

    For particularly dense or abrasive applications, consider using a Deep V-Tooth blade. This blade has a taller tooth than a standard V-Tooth blade, which helps it stay sharper for longer.

  • Wire blades are used to cut intricate patterns and shapes out of foam, rock wool, foam glass, and other materials. Wire blades consist of several individual strands of wire wrapped around an inner core of wire strands. The outer wire wrap forms a pattern. The specific pattern that wires are wrapped in is what makes the blade more abrasive or less abrasive. The more abrasive the Wire blade, the more aggressive the cut when the blade is pulled through its respective application. For applications that require a high level of abrasiveness, Simmons can provide Wire blades produced from tungsten steel.

    Simmons offers Wire blades in several levels of abrasiveness for a wide range of products. However, due to the way they’re manufactured, rolls of Wire blades are not available for order.

  • The Simcor® blade was created in response to customers requesting a blade that was effective at cutting through heavy or dense foam and cardboard products. Since then, it’s become a fast favorite for converters of bubble wrap and other packaging materials wrapped around a cardboard core. It’s also proved to be an incredibly effective bone and tissue processing blade.

    Standard Simcor blades have 10 teeth per inch (TPI) and feature a modified C-Tooth cutting edge with a lighter set than you’ll find in most carbon saw blades. Coupled with a hardened cutting edge, this allows the blade to still rip through incredibly dense material while keeping dust and material waste to a minimum.

    That same penetrating ability makes the Wavy blade ideal for cutting fabric and other fibrous materials. This is mostly due to the blade’s razor-sharp crests, which can slice through material without pulling at the individual fibers like a toothed blade might.
