We’re Chris and Julia Tunstall, a husband-and-wife team who love the service industry and are dedicated to treating all of our customers like they are our family. Inspired by Chris’ decade of experience as a bartender and bar manager, we created A Bar Above as a bar education site in 2013, growing over the years to add online training, our podcast, and our line of premium barware.
We’re dedicated to growing a team of people here in Carlsbad, California who love craft cocktails and the beverage industry as much as we do! Together, we continue to develop and personally test our custom line of bar tools so we can bring the best barware to our customers. Our mission is to serve the people who serve great drinks! Whether your customers are professional bartenders or just like making drinks at home, we’re dedicated to creating incredible cocktail experiences through premium barware and free craft bar education. Our thoughtfully-designed products have been created based on our own experiences behind the bar, solving common barware problems we experienced firsthand. Every piece has been crafted to perfectly meet the needs of the high-volume craft bar-- while also being easy to use!
