Verisurf Software, Inc. is a three-dimensional measurement solutions company providing productivity-enhancing computer-aided CMM programming, surface analysis, inspection, tool building, assembly guidance and reverse engineering solutions. Verisurf pioneered the automation of advanced surface analysis capable of comparing 3D coordinate measuring machine data to 3D CAD models and has become an enterprise metrology platform through its compatibility with all CAD software and interoperability with all brands of metrology hardware including all programmable, automated and manual CMMs, portable CMM measuring arms, laser trackers, and scanners, from FARO, Romer, Leica, Hexagon, API, Nikon, Creaform, LK, Wenzel, Zeiss, and many more.  Verisurf CMM programming has a more visual and real time user experience that is learned with proficiency much faster than legacy systems.  It not only makes programming faster, but it allows you to make cycle times faster.  Verisurf has led all others in interactive GD&T and importable, semantic PMI through direct-read CAD translators. The software has built-in first article inspection reporting (FAIR) - ballooned drawing capabilities as well as a CMM data interface with 3rd party first article and SPC apps. Verisurf's full CAD-interactive reverse engineering is enhanced with an extensive compliment of STL meshing and mesh modeling tools. See Quick Surface, a powerful toolset of mesh refinement and modeling, along with automatic surfacing, perfect for additive manufacturing & tool pathing.  Verisurf is a Mastercam partner; the same software platform that creates machine tool cutter paths can be used to make CMM program paths.

 Press Releases

  • Verisurf Software, Inc. announces adaptive scanning using Renishaw equipped CNC CMMs, including the Equator™ flexible gauging system. Components are scanned to capture profiles of undefined shapes. Verisurf software processes the captured data to create an accurate digital twin for engineering, machining, or additive manufacturing.

Verisurf operates Renishaw equipped CNC CMMs through the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI) to find and scan undefined shapes, including prismatic geometry and complex free-formed profiles. Unlike passive scanning, which relies on a defined scan path, adaptive scanning continuously adjusts the scan path based on probe deflection. This allows the probe to explore and digitize the component automatically. Renishaw initially developed and marketed the adaptive scanning technology as part of its Cyclone stand-alone scanning machine.

“We are excited to offer a solution to the many users of Renishaw equipped CMMs that enable them to extend their capabilities and offerings. Verisurf operates the machine, collects the measurement data, and delivers an end-to-end, scan-to-CAD reverse engineering and inspection solution,” said Nick Merrell, Executive Vice President of Verisurf Software, Inc.

Using the popular Verisurf CMM Programming & Inspection suite, the collected measurement data is processed into an intelligent CAD model using an easy Measure and Model workflow. The application is ideal for capturing missing features and surface data or reverse engineering complete components for engineering, machining, or additive manufacturing.

Verisurf is the only measurement, reverse engineering, and inspection software built on a full-featured 3D CAD/CAM platform with intelligent Model-Based Definition (MBD). This ensures data integrity and lets users perform metrology workflows in a seamless CAD environment while maintaining model-based digital continuity. Verisurf software is compatible with all CAD file formats, and the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI) communicates with and operates all programmable and portable CMMs for universal compatibility. The software’s modular design enables users quickly shift from reverse engineering to inspection to tool building, efficiently capturing and processing measurement data for practical metrology applications with repeatable process control, across the manufacturing enterprise.
  • Advanced CMM Programming and Automation Features for Inspection, Reverse Engineering, and Tool Building

Verisurf Software, Inc. is featuring the soon-to-be-released Verisurf 2024, the latest release of the popular measurement software for automated quality inspection, reporting, scanning, reverse engineering, tool building, and assembly guidance.  It is powerful, flexible, and easy to use for measurement applications across the manufacturing enterprise.

Verisurf 2024 expands on the software’s legacy as the only measurement, reverse engineering, and inspection software built on a full-featured 3D CAD/CAM platform with intelligent Model-Based Definition (MBD). The software’s modular design enables users to quickly shift from reverse engineering to inspection to tool building, efficiently capturing and processing measurement data for practical metrology applications with repeatable process control across the manufacturing enterprise.

Verisurf 2024 features many new programming and productivity features designed to improve metrology workflows through automation and innovation. Three examples of what is included are: New Global Register, New Advanced RPS Alignment, New Renishaw® REVO Sensor Support – RUP1 Renishaw Ultrasonic Probe (thickness) and SFP2 (surface finish) .

Application demonstrations during Eastec include using Verisurf software with: Scanning and inspection with portable CMM arms and scanners, adaptive scanning and reverse engineering with a Renishaw EquatorTM automated gauging system, and more.
