The new EROWA Robot Compact 150 is the logical addition to the EROWA automation portfolio and impresses with its wide range of functions. It is the perfect automation solution for flexible loading of up to two production machines of all processing technologies - from milling to EDMing. Due to its innovative design, the ERC 150 offers impressive magazine capacity with a small footprint while maintaining a transfer weight of up to 150 kg.
Easy to operate
The optional pull-out magazine levels ensure convenient loading and unloading of the workpiece carriers directly into the magazine. Thanks to the EROWA EWIS™ chip identification system in combination with the presence sensor, the operator always has a quick overview of the loading of all magazine locations, which significantly increases process reliability and efficiency.
Ergonomic loading station for heavy workpieces
The optional loading station can be integrated to save space. It makes it possible to set up large and heavy palletized workpieces at an ergonomic height while the robot is operational. An indexing system enables convenient set-up (4x90° rotation) and locks the pallet automatically when it engages. It also ensures that the pallets do not end up misaligned in the magazine.
Expandable magazine capacity and versatility
The magazine capacity of the Robot Compact 150 is flexible and can be expanded considerably. The magazine levels can be individually adjusted depending on the workpiece size and enable flexible and efficient use of the space available in the unit. Options such as a third rack magazine or an additional rotary magazine offer solutions for every production environment. The device is capable of handling workpieces of different sizes and heights - from small (70x70mm) EROWA ITS electrode holders to large MTS 400 pallets and part heights of up to 400 mm.
Technical details and specs
With a footprint of just 4.7 square meters and a transfer weight of up to 150 kg, the Robot Compact 150 offers an extra-long reach of the X-axis. Two independent X-axis drives enable fast magazine handling and a large magazine capacity with an X-axis travel of 1,458 mm. The space-saving gripper trays and the innovative Gripper+ technology (sensor system) ensure maximum flexibility and process reliability.

There are many ways of automating workpiece holders. They are meant to boost the economic efficiency of workpiece production. However, this goal can only be achieved if the entire manufacturing process runs reliably and without any issues.
EROWA’s VPC (Vise Power Clamp) tooling system was developed for precisely this purpose. In combination with the suitable EROWA loading station, it guarantees an automation process that is reliable and trouble-free. In addition, the universal applications of the tooling system allow for the highest degree of flexibility in workpiece production.
The key components consist of the two VPC chuck sizes (52mm type and 96mm type) and the matching VPC chucking spigots. All the workpiece holders that have been prepared with the common 52mm or 96mm pitches can be clamped in the matching VPC chucks.
Preparation is simple: screw the VPC chucking spigots into the workpiece holder, the fixture or the workpiece itself, and tighten it – done! The time-tested functional and well-thought-out clamping technology of the VPC chuck includes an integrated Z-support, status monitoring and a circumferential seal.
The VPC chucks can be attached to the machine table directly or through a base plate. Workpiece holders and workpieces are powerfully clamped in the chuck with 15kN of force. Workpieces can be exchanged within seconds with a repeatability of <0.003mm.
The VPC chucking spigots are made of high-quality hardened steel and have a long lifecycle. The ground functional surfaces ensure optimal run-in behavior into the VPC chuck. This guarantees reliable clamping and trouble-free automation.
With the help of adapter pallets, the VPC tooling system can easily be combined with other EROWA tooling systems such as UPC or MTS. In this way, flexibility in workpiece production can be maximized.
