Belmont’s SY Series High-Speed CNC EDM drilling machines are a proven line of customizable small-hole drills.
The SY-3040CE, which will be featured at Eastec 2025, combines a compact footprint with a built-in filtration system. This drill is also capable of fully submerged operations, eliminating the need for flush line adjustments. The SY-3040CE has a maximum workpiece weight of 770 lbs. The X, Y, and W travels are 15.7” x 11.8” x 16.9”, with a maximum open height of 18.5”.
During Eastec, this machine will demonstrate our EDM Milling feature, which allows the machine to EDM the required geometry from an imported NC file. The NC file is the cutter path created by a CAD-CAM system. The function of EDM milling is controlled by a special G-Code, which moves the X, Y, and W Axes simultaneously based on the coordinates from the NC file. The SY-3040CE also has exceptional features, such as our automatic depth control, multi-tasking abilities, 3-step control of EDM parameters, Ethernet connectivity / USB support for transferring data, and conversational G and M Code programming. Just a few more extraordinary attributes of these machines are the linear glass scales and the ability to interface with ancillary devices; such as rotary and tilt/rotary tables, indexers, and workpiece handling systems. Optional features include; a 12 or 30-position automatic guide changer, as well as Break Through Detection circuit which ensures a complete hole, and helps to eliminate back wall strikes.
