Melton Machine & Control Company builds the best automated systems in the world. Our specialties include Robotic welding, Robotic grinding/polishing and material handling. We build gages, inspection stations, leak testers and assembly stations. Our customer come to us from all over the world, and our emphasis is on North America. The industries we serve include automotive, transportation, aerospace, machining, agriculture, general industrial automation, food assembly, military (especially welding and cladding materials for rebuild) and energy (we do robotic welding and cladding for multiple appications in oil & gas pipe along with surface grinding and metal removal.) Our team of 175+ people include over 70 engineers and 20 service robot technicians. We have people residing in Mexico to help handle projects in country. We have 50+ years of success stories in automation so we can be that long term partner in solving automation problems together.

We have been employee-owned since 1985 and that means every person works hard to make sure we are successful and our customers make money. Our goal is to be the best partner we can be to help our customers build the best quality components.

Come talk to us today to see how we can improve your bottom line.

  • Melton's Collaborative 7th Axis
Providing a 7th axis for collaborative robots to move up to 15 feet. This can also move the work piece by 15 feet and give better access to welding or servicing the part. This can allow machine tending over a large floorspace....

  • Collaborative robots do many things well, they can be programmed simply and quickly, they allow for people to operate nearby and they can be reasonably priced. They do not allow for extended reach applications. Melton Machine & Control Company is introducing a series of 7th axis systems to extend the capabilities of a Collaborative robot. This slide solution can transport the cobot or the workpiece over 10 feet and make it much easier to process large parts. We specialize in robotic welding, robotic grinding/polishing, and machine tending.

If your application needs include welding a large part, or if you need to transport a part over a long distance as in machine tending two production machines, then talk to us about ways we can add capability to a collaborative robot to solve your application. To be frank, the only limit to what this can be used for is your imagination. Come talk to our engineers in booth B15038 and see our demo moving a robot to multiple positions.
