UL XP-496 is a flexible 100% solids zero VOC spray-on sacrificial pure polyurea coating that protects finished and fragile surfaces from damage during transit or installation. XP-496 is easily applied in a single monolithic sprayed film, removing the need for application and cutting of traditional films and tapes. Due to its durable elastomeric physical properties, XP-496 can move and flex to accommodate substrate movement while also protecting against impacts, gouges, chipping, and abrasion. With rapid tack free time of under 30 seconds, XP-496 allows for quick processing and packaging after application within minutes, saving time and labor costs. XP-496 is ideal for temporary protection on painted surfaces, sacrificial peelable coating needs, protecting fabricated parts in transit, plastic/FRP, fiberglass/gelcoat, ceramics, glass doors, appliances, alloys, and protection from overspray or environmental debris. XP-496 was formulated to be easily removed from the substrate at any time while not damaging the finished surface.
