In today's fast-paced world, the role of industrial technologies cannot be understated. They have become an integral part of our daily lives, making tasks easier and more efficient. Among these technologies, plate rolling machines stand out for their precision, dedication, and constant innovation.
When it comes to manufacturing plate rolls, Faccin Group is a name that stands-out in the market. With a proven track record of excellence, Faccin Group is committed to designing and producing state-of-the-art metal forming machines that meet the diverse needs of various industries. The Faccin Group comprises three reputable brands: Faccin, Boldrini, and Roundo.
The group was approached by MP&C, a prominent company seeking a rolling solution that could effectively enhance efficiency, boost accuracy, facilitate staff cross-training for machine operations, and ensure utmost safety during their projects. Understanding the importance of meeting their current production objectives and preparing for future demands, the Faccin Group wholeheartedly committed to finding a solution that would address their needs.
Who is MP&C?
MP&C, also known as Membrane Process and Controls, is a renowned American company headquartered in Edgar, Wisconsin. Established in 1992, MP&C has earned a reputation as a leading global innovator in membrane filtration technologies. With a strong presence in multiple sectors, including waste-water treatment and pharmaceuticals, MP&C proudly offers its expertise and services to a diverse range of industries. From the design and fabrication of stainless-steel processing equipment to the installation of cutting-edge Membrane Filtration Systems, CIP Skids, ASME Pressure Vessels, Atmospheric Tanks, Process Piping, and many others.
Details and information
MP&C is always on the lookout for cutting-edge technologies and creative solutions to enhance the effectiveness and worth of each project. When it came to producing roll tank shells, they encountered a hurdle. Their outdated Roundo PS-310 plate roll lacked CNC capabilities, which no longer met the company's evolving requirements. Managing multiple operators was quite a challenge while and training became increasingly burdensome. Additionally, the capacity of their outdated plate roller was also a limiting factor.
MP&C had clear that when they were ready to upgrade their rolling process, they needed the superior performance and reliability of a Faccin Plate Roll.
The team at Faccin truly excels in the metal forming world. Working with the Faccin Group was very easy, as confirmed by Luke Stencil, Maintenance Supervisor at MP&C.
Furthermore, he also adds, I was able to obtain very helpful information regarding different roll options Faccin could provide for us. The Faccin team focused on our application and provided with several options for us unlike other companies. During the evaluation stage, I was able to identify that the roller we had selected would meet all the needs we were looking for. A few of the folks from Faccin even came up to our facility to see our needs, discuss options, and answer all the questions we had. This made Faccin an easy choice for MP&C.
After careful consideration, MP&C has made the strategic decision to proceed with the innovative 4HEL-3539 model, featuring a cutting-edge 4-roll with linear design.
Implementation
Stencil explains that their decision-making process went fairly quickly, as they were able to pinpoint the exact machine, the 4HEL-3539 model, with the support of the Faccin team. The 4-roll plate roll was empowered with by the advanced Siemens PGS-Ultra computerized numerical control. Top and side support completed the line for total automation.
Once MP&C agreed to the machine, it was here within 5 months. This met our timeline perfectly, as we are doubling our shop capacity and the transition worked out well. The day of delivery was exciting, seeing a brand-new piece of equipment being placed in our facility. Our employees were eager to learn how to use the new equipment, and we knew we would put it to good use immediately. Overall, the experience was extremely easy, and we appreciate the Faccin team! We know they will be our go to for other metal forming equipment.
The solution has significantly boosted the manufacturing output of tank shells and various circular metal forming shapes at MP&C.
We rely on the accuracy of the machine to maintain our customer’s highest tolerances. Time and time again is proving itself whether we are rolling something big or small, thick or thin. The quality of the parts rolled on the new Faccin have been amazing! Stencil added.
The results
MP&C utilizes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to effectively monitor and measure safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This enables them to maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of their operations.
Stencil highlighted that this machine has been a much safer machine to work around as most of the moving parts are contained.
Right away we are noticing an incline in quality, as this machine meets tolerances better, and overall provides a better product. The roller cuts our production time down drastically when making tank shells compared to our previous plate roll. This is incredibly helpful as we work in a world where lead-times are tight! Less time spent means less overall money spent, so the cost savings is valuable as we are able to produce more in a single day.
Faccin Group and MP&C have joined forces in their pursuit of innovation and dedication to achieving excellence. Through a strategic collaboration, these industry leaders combine their expertise and resources to fuel mutual growth and success.
