 Press Releases

  • Auburn Hills, Michigan, February 6, 2023 – Marposs, a world leader in measurement and process monitoring technologies, will demonstrate its I-Wave2 wireless manual gauge at Houstex in booth #3003. Featuring an integrated 1.8” color display and Bluetooth® wireless technology, the I-Wave2 gauge puts measurement directly into the user’s hand, helping to save time and money as well as avoiding operator mistakes. Its 24/7 inductive charging system in combination with a waterproof design create a robust product suitable for the most extreme shop floor environments.

With a durable, ergonomically-designed handle and automatic orientation display, the I-Wave2 can also  transmit data to an industrial computer within a 10m distance. The I-Wave2 gauge features a bar graph column with measurement unit, good/scrap part indication, wireless strength and battery levels, confirmation of measurement transmission, and an Absolute/Relative option setting. Interchangeable nosepieces rapidly convert the gauge for ID, OD, depth, distance or countersink inspection.

Prior to  acquiring a measurement, the computer ‘s guided sequence system will light up the display screen, prompting the user to pick up the next I-Wave2 in the cycle. At Houstex, the I-Wave2 will be used in combination with a Marposs Merlin Plus™ embedded gauge computer, which enables the IWave2 to also achieve guided sequencing.

The Merlin Plus offers six USB and two ethernet ports enabling connectivity to multiple data collection devices and the ability to measure up to 250 characteristics. Additionally, the new version features a wider (12”) true flat LCD screen capable of customized page display, a more robust design, and multiple capability enhancements.

Complete information on the I-Wave2 wireless gauge can be found at MARPOSS wireless handle and the Merlin Plus at MARPOSS Premium gauge computer.  Or reach out by telephone at 248-370-0404, toll-free at 1-888-627-7677, or by email: marposs@us.marposs.com

  • Auburn Hills, Mich., Feb. 6, 2023  – In booth #3003 at Houstex, Marposs will demonstrates its Super-Meclab+.T40 high accuracy bench top laser micrometer systems for off-line diameter measuring of fluted parts such as cutting tools, drill bits, end mills, small gears, and toothed pulleys.

Offering linearity of + 0.5 µm and repeatability of + 0.07 µm, this non-contact gauging system provides extreme accuracy that is typically only attainable in a metrology room. With a measuring field of 40 mm, Meclab systems are designed to be used as an off-line bench-top gauge with the flexibility to check a wide range of components with different shapes and sizes without resetting or remastering.  The ease of use reduces inspection time while improving measurement capability.

The Super-Meclab+.T40 tabletop system comes complete with flat granite baseplate, embedded PC with 10.4-in. monitor, pre-installed software, fixtures, keyboard, mouse, and an NC-VR option for compensation of measuring drift due to changing room temperature.

    How it works
The part is inserted onto a double V-fixture, which is mounted on a manually driven slide equipped with a magnetic digital readout scale. This displays the displacement of the part itself with the position continuously displayed on the screen. The operator then starts the measuring cycle. During this, the part is rotated to a measurement period that is automatically set by the computer. During rotation, the laser sensor scans the part at 1500 samples/second and stores all the measurements related to the positions of the upper and lower edge of the part. Tolerances are checked by comparing the actual dimensions to the programmed limits. The measurement data are immediately printed and recorded for further analysis, eliminating the need to hand fill-in charts.

Complete information about Marposs MecLab solutions can be found at MARPOSS bench for ultra-high accurate OD check, by calling 1-888-627-7677 or by emailing marposs@us.marposs.com

  • Auburn Hills, Feb. 6, 2023 – At the Houstex show in booth #3003, Marposs will demonstrate its Optoflash™ optical measurement and inspection solution for shafts, fasteners and other components manufactured for the automotive, aerospace and medical industries. The Optoflash systems perform 100 static measurements within 2 seconds at U95 = 1 µm + D/200 (D in mm). Featuring a robust design, the systems offer both static and dynamic measurements in the production environment with the same quality as in the lab.

Based on side-by-side 2D image architecture, Optoflash systems can measure parts without any vertical movement of the sensors or the part itself. These fixed position sensors eliminate mechanical stress, helping achieve consistent and stable performance over millions of cycles, as well as minimal maintenance requirements.

The Optoflash is available in a variety of models, capable of measuring very small fasteners of under 33mm in length and less than 20mm in diameter up to part lengths of 300mm and diameters of 90mm.

Optoflash systems have a user-friendly interface that allows anyone to use and configure new measurements. All measurements are archived for retrieval by the smart search function, and the included monitor comes on a flexible arm that can be installed on either side of the system. An integrated USB hub with seven ports provides easy connection to printers, code readers or external memory.
