  • Plasma Gas Atomizer (PGA)
    The plasma cold hearth melting and gas atomization system melts and atomizes reactive and refractory metal alloys....

    • The batch, plasma cold hearth melting and gas atomization system melts and atomizes reactive and refractory metal alloys. The feeder accepts a broad range of feed forms (i.e. ingot, compact, scrap, powder, etc.) and compositions, providing flexibility for alloying in the melt, while also refilling the system after each atomization cycle. Dependent on the feed form, the atomization cycle time may vary depending upon the charge form, the time taken for homogenization, the melt sampling, and any alloy adjustment requirements. All valves and components are remotely operated and monitored from a remotely located main control console. All critical circuits and components are interlocked to protect personnel from injury and to prevent damage to the equipment.

  • Ceramic Induction Gas Atomizers (R-CIGA)
    The Retech R-CIGA systems are state of the art gas atomizers used for production of nickel and ferrous alloys....

    • The atomizer utilizes hot wall induction melting technologies to produce the highest quality metal powders. The hot wall atomization utilizes a tilting melt box and a bottom-pour ceramic tundish to accurately introduce a molten steam of metal into an atomization die for powder production. A broad range of metals and alloy powders are produced including iron, nickel, cobalt, copper and aluminum based alloys. The melting and atomization occur within vacuum-tight stainless steel chambers. The molten metal is introduced to free-fall atomization nozzle. The liquid stream is broken up into droplets using high-pressure insert atomization gas. As the droplets cool and solidify highly spherical powder is produced. A cyclone separator is used to collect the powder into a tote while directing the inert gas towards the stack.
