Extrude Hone has been operating in the AM market for years and is present worldwide. Customers come to us for surface, flow improvement, and part cleanliness on outer surfaces or inner channels. Our technology allows us to improve the incoming roughness, mainly by a factor of 10, while removing all left particles. AFM or MICROFLOW technologies can process out-of-sight areas, addressing the most intricate designs. We help find the right balance between build and post-processing. We will assess the post-processing cost per part to help you make the right decision.  We invented the Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM) process and MICROFLOW, but we have also developed Electrochemical Machining (ECM—static or dynamic) and Thermal Deburring (TEM) for decades. Extrude Hone designs and builds equipment, tooling, and media and offers contract shop services. That's unique in the market. Our engineering department provides consultancy and training to get the best out of our technologies. To discover our offering, visit our website, Extrude Hone. To learn even more about our technologies and applications, register for our Virtual Booth. Meet our experts!

    Key Benefits

    • Extrude Hone technology allows us to drastically improve the incoming roughness, mainly by a factor of 10.
    • Improved Surfaces for Fatigue Strength. Extrude Hone's advanced surface solutions help eliminate defects from AM components' surfaces and improve component fatigue properties.
    • Partially Sintered Material Removal. Loose metallic particles can be particularly harmful to hydraulic components. Extrude Hone Abrasive Flow Machining is one of the most efficient methods of removing partially sintered material internally and externally.
    • The AFM technologies can process out-of-sight areas, addressing the most intricate designs.
    • Thanks to our tooling design, we can take great care of demanding geometry, like protecting the edges of the blades from being overprocessed.
    • The process is entirely under control and contributes to quality and productivity.
    • Replacing manual polishing with a robust process to elevate quality while increasing productivity.

  • VECTOR Next Generation Abrasive Flow Machining AFM
VECTOR Abrasive Flow Machining technology drastically improves the incoming roughness by a factor of 10. Available in 2024 with advanced AUTOFLOW™ and 4.0 capabilities.
VECTOR is the solution for the internal finishing of AM organic hydraulic manifolds.
    ...

  • Precision Finishing and Polishing System

For various applications, the VECTOR Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM) system can polish and finish precision parts in small to high-volume batch quantities. By the end of 2020, with 400+ VECTOR machines in 22 countries worldwide, VECTOR is the best seller in its category. Benefit now from the best VECTOR.

    Main Features

    • AUTOFLOW™Advanced Control For maximum process control. The ability to control flow rate, temperature, and viscosity also improves the abrasive media's life span.
    • Media Temperature Management Controlling the temperature of the abrasive media gives a more consistent machining rate. (Basic is the standard, and Advanced is an option.)
    • Intuitive Operator Interface This is a State-of-the-art control system for operation, monitoring, setup, and maintenance with a 12” Touch screen interface. It enables the saving of multiple processing parameters as required for ease of use and quick recall in manufacturing multiple customer parts.
    • Options to increase productivity include Swing arms, hydraulic or manual ones, and a manual tooling cart, which helps with heavy fixture handling.
