Technomark presents Buddy, its new smartphone-controlled machine. It is part of Connect.series, the first range of dot peen marking equipment to offer wireless communication between the marking head and its control unit via a secure WiFi protocol.

For users looking for infinite marking freedom, Technomark has developed a mobile application (subject to licence) that lets you control your marking head via a smartphone. Its ergonomic design shows the marking area on screen, making it easy to create marking files. If required, they can also be imported from a PC. Each head has its own licence, so the machine can be used by an unlimited number of users with any Android 10+ smartphone. What's more, you no longer need a code reader to fill in the variables in your marking files, it's now integrated using your smartphone's camera.

With your smartphone and wireless marking head always to hand, you can mark indoors or outdoors. Buddy is designed for 100% mobile use, which is why its marking head has a built-in 22V lithium-ion battery that provides enough power for a full day's work. This battery has been designed specifically for Technomark to guarantee the machine's lightness, performance, and durability. It has a monitoring system called "BMS" (Battery Monitoring System) that provides real-time information on the life and health of the battery, as well as the number of markings remaining.

The marking head is made from hard-wearing technical plastic and features protective bumpers that make Buddy a robust piece of marking equipment - an essential feature for a nomadic use. Its in-line handle means you can mark at 360° on medium to large parts that can be heavy or difficult to access.

For this range of micro-percussion machines, Technomark has developed a multifunctional support foot which, thanks to its various accessories (magnets, centring V and support guide), enables marking to be carried out on small and large cylinders and at the end of the bar, as well as holding the head on the parts to be marked.

All the machines in the range are supplied with a storage dock that acts as a support for the head and allows you to maintain your machine by checking the length of your springs and the sharpening angle of your stylus.

Like all Technomark machines, Buddy features the IDI (Intelligent Driving Impact) function, which guarantees marking quality regardless of differences in level between the workpiece and the stylus.

These machines use dot peen technology, i.e. they deform the material into a hollow which, thanks to a succession of impacts, forms the permanent marking. An international patent is pending.

Many types of marking are possible, such as serial numbers, time stamps and 2D codes, on a variety of materials including metals and plastics. This machine is therefore suitable for a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive and metalworking.

The Graphix marking station uses fibre laser technology. The principle: a high-intensity and very fine beam is focused and directed towards the part to be marked. The marking is non-contact and can be done on many materials such as metals and plastics.

Graphix is an all-in-one station with a high-performance marking head (laser source, optics and focus) and on-board electronics designed for stationary use, i.e. the parts to be marked converge on a machine placed on a bench. Its small footprint, thanks in particular to its 2-position power door, allows it to be easily installed in a workshop. However, this marking equipment has a loading volume of 500*500*400mm and a working area of 100 mm x 100 mm or 140 mm x 140 mm depending on the focal lenght. It also provides maximum safety for your operators.

This laser station allows for high speed, quality deep or light marking on small to medium sized pieces for both small and large series. Its laser marking possibilities are multiple: alphanumeric characters, drawings, shapes, logos or Datamatrix.

Its plus? An intelligent software with a material database that allows you to make markings in just 2 clicks! Nothing could be easier, just select the material of the part and the desired marking result. This material database makes it possible to do away with the complicated settings required to carry out laser marking, and thus to make it accessible to all. 

But that's not all! Technomark has also developed a marking head with an on-board camera which, thanks to the Smart View function, offers the possibility of visualising the rendering and positioning of the marking on the screen. You no longer need to move the room to ensure that the marking is correctly positioned, it adapts to your room because everything can be controlled from the screen. This feature also facilitates multi-level marking in 3 dimensions. The Graphix station is therefore a machine suitable for both novices and experts.

The Graphix laser marking machine meets different needs thanks to its 3 available powers (20W, 30W and 50W), but also thanks to its various accessories, such as the rotary axes for marking in all positions, the side openings to allow the passage of bars and long parts or the smoke extractor.

After 5 years of development, Technomark introduces Connect.series, the first range of dot peen marking machines to offer wireless communication between the head and the controller via a secure Wi-Fi protocol. It is designed to produce many types of marking such as alphanumeric characters (serial numbers, time stamps, etc.), 2D codes or logos to ensure the traceability of your parts. The dot peen technology is based on forming a depression in the material through a succession of impacts that form the permanent marking. This range has two international patents pending.

Combo is a 2-in-1 machine that allows you to answer to all your needs by switching from a portable to a bench top configuration in less than 10 seconds without tools. In fact, all you have to do is remove the foot support and place the marking head on the column base. This allows you to carry out single markings as well as large series. This versatility permit to save money, as it combines the advantages of a portable and a bench top machine.

In portable mode, the wireless communication between the marking head and the controller gives you a 10m range to mark. In addition, the 22V lithium-ion battery guarantees the continuity of your production thanks to the intelligent energy management. It’s possible to use the machine as a 100% battery, 100% electric, or as a plug-in hybrid. The lightness of the marking head and its 360° use allow the marking of medium to large parts that are sometimes heavy or difficult to access. Finally, its multifunctional foot support allows to mark flat and cylindrical parts while ensuring stability thanks to the magnets and the non-slip centring Vs.

In benchtop mode, the marking head is mounted on a column base to mark small to medium sized parts up to 290mm high. The quick shift function facilitates transitions between different parts by allowing quick adjustment of the height of the marking head on the column. In addition, the grooves in the base allow the attachment of various workpiece holders, such as a rotary axis, and ensure consistent quality over a range of markings.

The Connect.series controller can be connected to the network if required via its Ethernet port. It has a large 10" touch screen in tempered glass, 3 USB ports, as well as an RFID chip that allows the heads to be paired. It also has universal VESA 100 mounts so it can be attached to any type of support.

Its software, developed by Technomark, is ergonomic and easy to use for marking in a few clicks. It provides real-time machine and marking information, which allows for preventive maintenance, and increase the life of the machine. It also has an operator mode and an administrator mode to facilitate the design and production of your markings. Finally, to meet all your needs, there is a complete software suite that allows logo and Datamatrix marking, the export of marked data or the creation of custom fonts.

Like all Technomark dot peen marking machines, Combo has the IDI (Intelligent Driving Impact) function which allows marking on uneven surfaces while guaranteeing the quality of the result. It also has the Easy Shift function to view the movement of the head on the workpiece to ensure that the marking is correctly positioned on it before starting.

The Combo machine is made of technical plastic shells and equipped with bumpers to ensure the necessary robustness for an industrial environment. Its marking head has a 120x60mm window. It is equipped with an OLED screen that shows real-time battery level, network coverage and current marking file. It’s possible to customise this information if required. You can also light up the marking area to make it easier to mark.

Like all Connect.series machines, Combo is supplied with a storage dock, which serves as a support for the marking head and allows you to maintain the machine by checking the length of your springs and the sharpening angle of your stylus, but also to store them.
