 Press Releases

  • Scytec’s DataXchange is designed to transform the manufacturing shop floor. Scytec will be at Westec 2021 providing live machine monitoring demonstrations. Topics include education, adoption trends, and how to remove barriers to entry into smart factory. DataXchange’s intuitive manufacturing dashboards communicate machine data and can be viewed in real-time and remotely with the data display mobile applications, making the data actionable. DataXchange makes job tracking and part counting a breeze so you can manage your shop floor by fact and not guesswork. Across the industry, there are blockages due to labor gaps with record numbers of people retiring daily along with unprecedented labor shortages. DataXchange makes it possible to operate more machines with fewer people. Stop by booth #1918 to see how DataXchange can improve your shop floor performance and see how your data can be put to work!

  • Scytec DataXchange can collect OEE metric data such as utilization, part counts and downtimes automatically over a wired or wireless Ethernet connection from MTConnect Fanuc FOCAS and OPC UA based machines. DataXchange can also collect automatically from older and manual machines using an SRC, our low cost hardware module. It’s one thing to know what the machines are doing, it’s another to categorize the data based on your definition of what the machines are doing.  For example, is the machine in cycle during automatic tool changes, program and optional stops, or feed hold?  How about when it’s running, but with the feed rate override at 80%, or during warmup cycles?  The power of DataXchange allows you to make these types of decisions to meet your specific OEE monitoring needs, trigger notifications, increase shop-floor utilization, decrease downtime, along with so much more. The DataXchange Operator Data Interface Screen provides an easy to use interface that runs on PCs and tablets to categorize planned and unplanned downtimes, update dashboards as well as triggering and sending email and text notifications to keep everyone updated on the status of the machines.
