CESMII (Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute, affiliated with DoE USA) is funding a project to implement Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) Starter Solutions to 15 Small & Medium Manufacturers (SMMs) in the US.
Under this project, 4 critical machines in each SMM’s plant shall be linked using last-mile connectivity IoT devices and three apps for improvement in productivity performance, energy performance, & asset performance.
There is no cost to the SMMs for the above-mentioned implementation of the hardware/software solution (since it is funded by CESMII), as well as no software usage costs for a trial period of about 10 months after initial implementation! After 10 months, the SMMs can decide to continue or scale under a commercial arrangement with CESMII and 5G.
