ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders is housed on a dedicated medical unit at Denver Health Medical Center where it is equipped to manage the life-threatening medical complications of severe eating disorders. Due to the fragile and complex nature of their illnesses, patients transfer from hospitals and treatment centers across the country to receive the acclaimed, multi-disciplinary, life-saving care that ACUTE offers. ACUTE treats patients 15yrs+ who meet one or more of the following:

            <70% of IBW or whose BMI <14

            Suffering severe medical complications of anorexia, bulimia, ARFID or severe malnutrition

            Need to safely detox from laxative, diuretic or self-induced vomiting

            At risk for a deadly complication known as the refeeding syndrome

            Currently inpatient at a hospital with a severe eating disorder and not improving
